I would tend to agree with that assessment. Probably not better than those teams, but possibly as good as. It is funny you refer to Horry as the "Fresh Prince of the Riverwalk". Ever since he was a Rocket, he has reminded me of Will Smith!

That is a great article, from the perspective of one of the most seasoned vets in the league, as to why the Spurs are so special. Being selfless & down to earth has gone a long way toward getting the Spurs to where they are today.

Ya know, that is one of the many reasons I love the Spurs. They are a team of classy players, not thugs or thug-wanna-be's. Yes, Bruce Bowen can be a bully on the court, but he's not a thug. Tim Duncan is without a doubt the classiest player in the NBA, & team mates Parker & Ginobli are not far behind. Except for the few seasons he spent on the dark side (in L.A.), Robert Horry has always been one of my favorite players. The national media can't stand it that the Spurs are so good, possibly because they don't have a thug-type player that they can keep in off-the-court headlines. I really don't know what the media's reason is, but I do know that the Spurs are the NBA team I can most relate to, simply because they are comprised of a likeable group of nice guys. It is starting to look that way. Did anyone besides me notice how much ABC is in love with LeBron? For example, they can be heading into a commercial break with the commentators saying "Spurs lead by (whatever)", and yet the camera is focused on James instead of one of the Spurs!! I noticed this type of thing several times in during the game last night. I just don't get it. ???

Not only are Head Coach Bob Mackey (Silsbee) & Assistant Coaches Bob Luttrull & Shane Wincheser (Lumberton) local products, but team members Ron Mohica, Josh Atterbury (Ned), Brian Ware, & Chad Lutturll (Lumb), also give the squad a local flavor. This Saturday night the Drillers will face the Shockwave from San Diego, California, and the Drillers have announced that everyone gets admitted for FREE! I just read a report that Nick is now playing DL for the Texas Copperheads of af2. I guess I'll have to make it a point to head to Houston to catch another Copperheads game.

Dang, I hate to hear that Nick was released. I loved watching him as a Driller. Although, dating Torrie, it doesn't sound as though he is doing too bad.

Baytown's Stallworth quickly bacame a favorite of mine last season. Very cool stadium.
