  1. I think Barbers Hill, Ozen, and Dayton would beat Newton, IMO.
  2. I can't imagine how good he is going to be by the time he is a junior........ He just has to stay healthy.
  3. From what I have heard, Crosby is a lot better this year, but I still think the Indians will take this one.
  4. I think you are 100% right about that. For just about all of the WO-S players, football is #1 on their agenda. You don't have that kind of dedication at LC-M. They have the talent, but I am not sure why they can't get the job done. You can't tell me that Nederland or PN-G has that much more talent than LC-M. And they are good at both baseball and football year in and year out. Bridge City is doing excellent in both sports as well. By the way, I always root for LC-M unless they are playing against the Stangs. I actually got excited when they brought the new coach in because I thought he would turn things around.
  5. This one is tough to call. Sure Barbers Hill has improved (hopefully), but Jasper will only get better each week as well. I don't think Barbers Hill will have the speed Jasper does. I will say the Hill by 7 in a low scoring game.
  6. You underestimate all the teams in this area. Just look at what WO-S did to your precious eagles. BH would do no better than sixth in that 4A district, maybe seventh.....
  7. I am going to predict WO-S to win by 50+. LC-M will be held to under 100 yards.
  8. I think you are right about that. Dayton looked like they laid it down in the second half though. But I think the Chain Gang had something to do with that. Next up, LC-M.
  9. LC-M at Caney Creek (Thursday, Aug. 31) West Brook vs Ozen at Lamar Nederland vs La Marque at Reliant Stadium PN-G vs Brenham at Reliant Stadium Central at Baytown Lee WO-S at Dayton Jasper at Livingston Bridge City at Liberty Orangefield at Buna Hardin-Jefferson at Anahuac Cleveland at Kirbyville Hamshire-Fannett at Splendora Houston Scarborough at Huffman Coldspring at Woodville Hardin at Tarkington East Chambers at Shepherd Huntington at Warren Kelly at Houston Kinkaid West Hardin at Groveton Cathedral at Deweyville High Island at Kountze Colmesneil at Evadale Westbury Christian at Hull-Daisetta Barbers Hill vs Wharton at Pearland
  10. I think Ronnie Dennis, WO-S WR, will make some noise this year. He is often overlooked.
  11. Jody, you need to worry about someone else. Thanks for your concern though. It should be a good matchup. If we can stop the run, we should be successful. After seeing the defense against Vidor, I feel confident that the Broncs may have a hard time running the ball. Our offense is running on all cylinders and we have been moving the ball pretty good. A big play could happen anytime, but that is not what we rely on.
  12. I was glad to see the hurried, no-huddle offense right at the end of the second quarter work so effectively. Everyone looked in sync.
  13. I think you are giving BC a little too much credit.
  14. Should be a good scrimmage and an even better indicator of what each team needs to focus on. I don't expect either team to walk over the other. We have a bad taste in our mouth after the loss to Wimberley last year. You can believe that many of the players haven't forgotten about that and have frequently thought about it during the offseason. Trust me, the Mustangs will be in better condition than most think. Look at all of the 7 on 7 games that were played in the 100+ degree heat this summer. This group is something special. They will not give up, no matter how hot it may be. Good luck to the coaches and players of both teams. Hopefully it will be an injury-free night.
