C'mon now hahaha, I just hope the kids get out of that game healthy!! It's going to be brutal 😬

This was the worst they looked offensively all year, mind you they threw like 4 picks last week against PNG last week! The play calling was horrendous, and the pick right after halftime was the nail in the coffin. 3rd and short multiple times and they went lateral instead of running downhill with one of the best backs in the district!?!? And less than 100 total yards total for the whole game, kids were checked out in the second half. There were a little 50 people in the stands, I never seen such a small fanbase! They are about to get demolished and embarrassed in this playoff game. They are not finishing this season on a positive note. Will be interesting how they play this QB situation next year! Cause this season is over smh

What's crazy is that they're are some big kids in the hallways, but they are in the band or nerdy and not athletic at all. Part of the times we live in, kids aren't outside as much and video games have ruined alot of these kids man. Just don't have the type of kids PNG does, they are always bigger an they a just divided by train tracks. Crazy, but with the success PNG has had as of late parents rather have their kids go to PNG I would assume.

It's the Trenches that's going to need help, just don't have those dudes especially on Offense. I do think skill positions they will be pretty good the next few years. But size up front is going to be a major factor!! And yes ik Nederland isn't known for having Big Lines, but the quality isn't there either. Guess they'll have to get "coached up", need to see about realignment as well. Cause boy, we should be small 4a with a football numbers. But improvement is improvement even though it's not Nederland standards. I think they will be better next year as well, like 6 wins.

Oh I know, I myself did say Nederland would win 3 games tops!! I was off by one, cause they will not beat TC! I've been involved with the football program since 1995. The kids are different man, kids are quitting like I've never seen before. It starts from up top!!! LN never had anything happen like this, he did start getting a lil soft towards the end and allow a couple things that I never would think he would. But that fire isn't there with the program nowadays. Let alone that there isn't many good players on the team. All they have on offense is Thomas and Tezeno. Sunday isn't a qb, but he can run and is a good kid. But as passing is concerned it's definitely spotty. The O-line has been decimated and they were already going to be the weak spot of the offense. That's why Sunday rolls out almost every pass play. But atleast they made improvements this year and are going to the playoffs, albeit the district being very weak!! Will 4 wins be enough for Barrow to keep his job is the question!? I believe the heydays of Nederland is far gone. Don't think there will ever be a run like the late 90's early 2000's when they went State Quarterfinals back to back to back then the State Semi Finals. Atleast not with this HC, Happy for Holyfield as a Senior to experience the playoffs though he has heart even though he had some costly penalties lastnight!

I knew this would be a competitive/trap game. SF had some fight, dare I say Nederland has a legitimate chance against Marshall next week!! Only because FB lost it's starting QB, their offense has become stagnant. FB defense is still good though, so idk if Nederland will be able to score much. I do think this will be the one time for Nederland to cause an upset. Would be wild for Nederland to go into MCM undefeated! This game should be interesting

BIG win for the dogs, really didn't think they were going to stop Dayton from scoring at the end!! Dayton got outcoached, athlete for athlete they were better, but coaching got them this game. Nederland better not sleep on SF though, I feel that could be a trap game for them. Nederland showed some grit and pulled it out, the coaches said "get" it and put their best players on the field going both ways. My have times changed though, you would've thought they won a big playoff game by the way the team and coaches celebrated after the win. They know their jobs are on the line, and that win might have saved them for a couple more years given they b eat SF and GP. Solid win though, I said at the beginning of the year they would win 3 games TOPS, i may be wrong. Looks like they will win 4! Nice win last night

Nah it's been baaaad football, I can honestly say this isn't that Nederland Football that we grew up knowing or should I say the Neumann years. But the kids aren't as tough nosed like the past, as a whole they aren't 'dogs" and I do think it comes from up top!! Barrow is a laid back coach, and the kids are going to have the same mentality as the Head Coach. I do think they have a quality coaching staff, but there isn't a fire from up top like when Neumann was there. The kids really aren't THAT talented, they're a very FEW that are. Walker, Thomas, Tezeno, and Holyfield, after that yikes, are they better than last year...yes! But will it show up on the scoreboard this year, probably not. Which means Barrow is probably gone. Just my two cents

As I said on my first post that they will win 3 games TOPS!! I'm thinking the wins will be WW, SF, GP, But after hearing that Dayton has lost their keys players from last year they may have a shot at winning that game as well. Heard SF is down too, which was honestly the most embarrassing lost to me last year! So if they win those games they will be in the playoffs with that 4th spot, which will be needed given all the pressure Nederland is under. We shall see though, given that tough pre-district schedule hopefully they get out of those games healthy! Because with the "talent pool" they have Nederland cant afford to lose ANY key starters. If they do its a wrap!!

You're exactly right, these kids are getting fed lies from somewhere thinking they are going to get a "scholarship" if they do a single sport. Nederland has always been hard nosed and kids played multiple sports. Now the best kids/starters are even quitting football, that NEVER happened at Nederland when Larry was there! They years of the late 90's early 2000's when they were going to the Sate quarter finals every years are over and I don't see it coming back no time soon. The kids are small and slow so hitting that weight room and doing Track in the Spring would definitely help. You can never be too fast, and if Nederland is always going to be the smaller school they better be fast!! But what do I know I'm just an observer who's been a follower of Nederland football since the mid 90's! My have things changed smh
