So there were applicants from Kansas, Rockport-Fulton & Tyler? But the job was not well advertised? You think an Assistant at Southlake Carroll who did not apply should have been hired? You think they should run any other offense as long as it isn’t the Slot T. Vidor tried the Spread, the flex one, e den the slot T out of the gun. They have run a 3-3, 4-2-5, 3-4 defenses also. Don’t hear much on here about that! I also hear that Vidor has Speed that could be shown off in another offense. Please prove this one to me!!! Who are these speedsters? Where are they? Please tell us something that the coaches haven’t evaluated.

Names not on this applicant list…anyone with the last name Joseph, or anyone who thinks Vidor is a spread team with great speed, also Chris Soza, Kent Walker, John Hall, Paul Kilby, Mark Fannin, Bruce Bush names that are very well known in coaching circles. Good luck to Coach DuBois & The Pirates.

If anyone believes Vidor has this speed please list them. 100% not true! Definitely a run based clock management offense is required.

Correct, does that mean it’s the right decision. There is more to being a High School Coach than just Wins. But debatable!

You can measure a coaches successes in many ways, by wins, championships, or in lives changed. Wins are good, Championships are great, but there is no substitute to changing a young athletes life. I’ll take a good coach who can mold a young athletes life, over a great coach that gets wins but doesn’t connect with his players.

I love reading how so many people have expert opinions about what VISD needs to do & what they don’t need to do. How everyone who doesn’t know anything about the athletes in the program. People’s opinions about this Coach & that coach in or outside of the program. How coaches need to be fired if they don’t win state in 7 seasons. Yet you work at a plant & get over paid and gripe about the price of the gas you make at the same time. Or you are in business & haven’t had your names in Forbes Magazine yet. You must be a failure. Rant over!

I’m not sure, I do know he has shared a few District titles. He has taken Vidor to more playoff games than any coach ever had before. He cared enough about the kids & community to turn down other jobs & keep striving to build things where he is. Unlike others that bounce from job to job chasing the next big thing.

So your opinion is he has no idea what he is doing. Then LC-M being 0-2 vs Vidor since Peevey has taken over… What does that say for him?

Keep your fingers crossed & be careful what you wish for. If you think your going to get another son of Gary Joseph, a spread offense & a trip to Jerry’s World, you need to think again. I don’t know if you have walked the halls of Vidor High School? Even someone saying the OC from Liberty Hill, not going to happen! Why would he? Please educate me.
