Sounds bout like the first game without the late surge in the 7th from Buna. Hardin's second left hander gave Buna fits too.

DWill had one bad inning which was the 7th, other than that Buna couldn't touch him. I'm sure his stamina has been built up since that game

Buna beat Hardin 7-4, i wouldn't call that "convincingly" when y'all were on y'alls toes until the last inning!

Buna scored 5 in the 7th to win 7-4. Buna couldn't touch JWill all night until the 7th. ump started squeezing him and a few bad calls by the field umpire, hard fought game though!

Hardin beat Cleveland 13-1 in 5 innings today. They will play Tarkington tomorrow night at 7

Shepherd won this game 4-0. I believe at least three of those runs were unearned. Brandon Downs started for the Hornets and pitched 5+ strong innings with multiple strikeouts. Hardin just couldn't touch the Shepherd pitcher that was throwing high 80's/low 90's all night long. The kid is a sophomore and had three scouts out there watching and clocking him, heard some people saying that the scouts were from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Over all it was a good preseason game for the Hornets, defensively they made some good plays but they just gotta hit the high heat better.

It'd be nice to see Coach Barrier back in this area, he was a good offensive coordinator and LB coach back when he was at HD. I played under Barrier and he is a good guy that gets the most out of his athletes.

Hardin will be tough to beat this year, they have the whole team returning except one. Correct me if i'm wrong but i believe all of their losses in district were by 1 or 2 runs and all came in extra innings. The have a solid team and are well coached, plus they have one of the best pitchers in the district.

I was at the game, this kid kept getting behind DB's all game. On the interception in the endzone at the end of the game, he was easily 5 yards behind the CB but the safety made a good play on the ball.

That's the problem, it all starts with the coaches.  They have to make adjustments, if you continue to give up BIG plays on defense cause you stack the line change it! Put a safety over the top, back your LB's off the ball so they can make a read, being 2 yards off the ball makes it easy to get blocked. Practice in full pads, have more discipline when a player fumbled or commits a penalty (pull tires or something). Plus it is 1A football, start your best 11 both ways, if they aren't in good enough shape that means there isn't enough.conditioning at practice. Just my thoughts
