  1. peevy can be heard when announcing game lol i grad with his dad at OF
  2. i was confused why LCM started stalling they pressed and scored quick then never pressed again
  3. no they did like two kids in one corner playing rock/paper/sissors, 2 kids standing on same side at other corner and Lum just sit back and watch i think LCM might been up like 8-4
  4. there coach said F it - stayed in zone - and long game
  5. no that’s true - SFA got tip scored 2 and then we went into stall- LOL we could only shoot if we get a lay up
  6. i played for OF. back in - way back - early 80s stalked on SFA - they were ranked - and it flustered them - OF won 26-24 in dbl OT now i as player would rather lost than stall but i wasn’t coach
  7. i’m parent of #10 i don’t like Lumberton stalling but they not only ones i hated it when LCM stalked against Lumberton with both tv news teams there looking for game of the week and they stalling play rock/paper/sissors and i really hated it when i was OF player and we did it entire game BUT there is no rule saying you can’t stall - and that is a coaching choice so i guess until rule change we will continue to not like it but accept it as a coaching strategy
  8. on max prep - game reporter 1 dunk Silsbee 1 dunk Lumberton?
  9. yes i hated when LCM did it to Lumberton - just play best ball my high school coach ran 4 corners every game - i hated playing basketball back then - 1982 long time ago
  10. i’m not saying it makes them a bad man my point is student feed off that - then you get kids acting out parents (myself) feed off that - parents acting out players feed off that - players acting in negative aggression and old saying you can’t run a day care with the front door open best person can lose when running on emotion because rational thoughts go out the door
  11. ok threw out a bunch of trolling - so expect some good responses in morning but remember im like that hog rolling around in the mud - when you jump in, I like getting dirty - lol and i did post about hiding - i am no hider - i will invite anyone over for a beer or drink and we can debate in real time - i would cook for you but cant at the moment i love debate - was on debate team in high school and went to college to become a lawyer - took a side step from that but it never left my blood
  12. Mitchell gets hate because of his antic on sideline. Maybe deserved. maybe not, BUT Jake McDonald at OF and Brad Jeffcoat at LCM are horrible as well and this rubs off on team and student sections. LCM student section has called a Lumberton player the N word last year and this year a player called a Lumberton player the N word. Lumberton, LCM, Vidor, Orangefield, BC student sections are horrible. And school admin, coaches, and parent allow this to go on. and parents, including my self are guilty of getting too vocal (it is hard with worst official in country but no excuse)
  13. I've been to almost every game these last three years, Why, only because i have a son that plays for Lumberton. And i will say all the haters on this years basketball team, do you really know basketball or just hating to get reaction. 1) team started year without TWO 6'4' starter - one came back then out for the year - other come back and is extremely limited due to the injury if you do not think that has an impact to team play - you are crazy 2) a third 6'4" guy that was lost for 10 games during year - BUT there for district - in my opinion this kid is incorrectly coached - when on has great 3 point shot but lacks ability to drive lane - so he should be used underneath to take advantage of his body and leaping ability 3) yes a less than great team - but with the worst officials in history - it does kill this team - yes both teams play with the poor officials - but better teams can over come these poor officials so yes very poor officiating, injuries, and poor coaching has hurt Lumberton. Silsbee easy #1, LCM should been easy #2 but WOS, OF, and Lumberton were all equally same. BUT you have to play the game and Lumberton did not take advantage of opportunities
  14. so follow up on last remark. and just to be clear - i am not a Lumberton fan, and don't live in Lumberton (i live in Orange almost Vidor but Orangefield school district) I think Mitchell is good guy, i believe he has basketball skill - but does that make you a good coach. In my opinion no i do believe he has the ability to be a good coach but is not there yet. He still learning and hopefully will get there. Because honestly, young men today need better leaders. first thing in being a coach is being a leader, knowing your players, teaching them to grow and get most from their abilities while developing the young men mentally, physically, and emotionally. I laugh at the screaming and fits on the side line because i love doing same thing to the lousiest officials i have ever seen (worst). I love pushing it to the limit. but what does that get - on me asked to leave game - on him players under performing BUT with that said, i am a supervisor of over 66 people - on the job you will not hear me raise my voice, demean anyone, harassment free, but most important, learn my teams strength and weakness and develop people to become successful. Put them in situation to succeed while coaching them to grow in areas of weakness so that they have all the opportunities to be successful in their career.
  15. now lets talk about Brock 6'6" player that can handle ball and shoot - that makes wins come easy. so lets look at before and during and after Brock so basically Lumberton only made playoffs one time before Brock and Mitchell was player on that team (so that gives him some skill in the game) so Lumberton without Brock and with Mitchell - no playoff appearances Lumberton with Brock and Mitchell - 3 playoff appearances First year without Brock and with Mitchell no playoff appearance quick assessment - Lumberton was only good because of Brock - not Mitchell - is this true, not accurate, unfair, only time can answer
  16. To me sounds like a lot of Mitchell and/or Lumberton haters on here. And that's ok, its your personal thoughts - you own that, that's your right And everyone has a right to their opinions. And all should support others opinion rather you agree, like, dislike, or hate I unlike most of this new America - that wants to destroy un liked opinion- support all speak but with that said i believe Most people making comments on here - in my opinion - would never make them face to face or in a public forum - and if you are too scared to put a face with it - then why make strong opinion - stand up with your words
  17. just give it a little time. and a new post will be hot topic lol
  18. you are very much assuming wrong. i am a WOS fan in football because they consistently represent the area. in other sports i don’t cheer for a single team, honestly could care less results. i want good game, injury free, safe, and FAIR game - nothing more nothing less
  19. and i’m guessing you calling pretty boys Lumberton but i’m not from Lumberton, never lived in Lumberton, will never live in Lumberton, have never worn a Lumberton shirt. I am a orange boy, and have called Lumberton much harsh words than that lol
  20. football is king is Texas - unfortunately that’s how it is even they have had success in track, basketball and baseball no where near football dominance
  21. WOS has been beating LCM like a drum for decades - so the soft green has been on other side many many times - crying them self to sleep for years
  22. i’m not gonna say they didn’t call it evenly bad for both teams but with lack of fouls it got agrressive and elbows
  23. you yanked mine i was still in parking lot glad i live in orange and not far to drive
  24. i’m by no means saying WOS win because of bad ref but i am saying SHI—Y A-S refs
