The Raiders started the season FRIENDLY and finished the season FRIENDLY. It will be interesting to see if the new AD/head football coach they hire addresses the major problem of being extremely soft and not being competitive. There must be a complete culture change and completely different attitude if the Raiders plan on winning

I certainly hope they can, however last year BH handed them a tail kicking and for some reason they do not play well against Crosby and they have to play both games on the road

Simply according to how much Nederland improves from last week. They must continue to improve. Texas City, Dayton, and Kingwood Park games are crucial for Nederland since I don’t see them beating BH or Crosby. I simply think they must improve each week. Remember that Lufkin is overrated and that tough loss to the Indians really hurt, so these next games are crucial in my opinion

You have Vidor’s no offense vs Lumberton’s no defense. However Vidor players are not as soft as the Raider players, so I pick them as a 2 touchdown favorite. That softness is why they are known as the FRIENDLY RAIDERS

Hey Raiders finally found a way to not be FRIENDLY congrats. Makes the Vidor game extremely important. Who ever wins takes 4th place lumberton could actually come in 3rd if they win by a big margin. My pick is Vidor by a least 2 scores because they play much harder than the Raiders

Those are very good stats, however stats don’t win a game. Again all phases need to improve. 1-2 doesn’t cut it

All phases need to improve including the running game. You must improve every week to be a quality team. If this were not so, Nederland’s record would not be 1-2

may be closer than one thinks Dubois does a super job getting them ready to play and Silsbee has not been playing very well this year

I get what you are saying. It would be a very tough district. You would have some good teams sitting at the house during the playoffs. PNG and Nederland would have a difficult time making the playoffs, but the district would be very strong.

No it is not

Yes PAM, BU, and Tomball are playing well, however PAM and BU are in an extremely weak district. Friendswood was the favorite, but is really struggling. Again 2-2 and 1-2 are not too good in my opinion

PNG gave up 38,37, and 30 the 1st 3 games. This is not what I would call good defense. Nederland got beat by a highly overrated Lufkin team and beat a very weak Jacksonville team. They still have a weak offense and struggle on defense, example the last PNG drive. Yes, both teams played hard, but as of today, they are average at best and will have to improve tremendously to beat BH and Crosby this year. I am hoping they can, but as of now, I see 3rd and 4th in district

Both head coaches must agree on officials or it goes to the UIL and they assign the crew. Each head coach grades the crew, probably the day after the game

I am not down on either team. I would love to see midcounty teams come in 1st and 2nd every year. Upon observation, as of today’s date, both are average HS teams that will have to improve tremendously to be able to beat BH and Crosby

Well I see the FRIENDLY RAIDERS continue to find ways to lose. The Raiders have always been FRIENDLY, however this team may possibly be one of the worst Lumberton football teams in the school’s history

Your usual Nederland vs PNG game down to the wire however it does not look like either team can beat BH and Crosby this year. They could possibly come in 3rd and 4th, if they can beat Dayton, KP, Santa Fe, and TC i think PNG can, but I don’t know about Nederland. Whoever comes in 4th will be one and done in the playoffs if you look at Barrow’s record since he took over, it is not impressive and PNG will never play defense as long as Faircloth is there

Newman owned PNG. PNG owns Barrow. PNG giving up 30+ a game and Big Ned can only scratch out 21(not good) hopefully they can finish 5-4 if they can beat Dayton, KWP, Santa Fe, and TC does not appear either Nederland or PNG can beat BH or Crosby this season hopefully both will make the playoffs at 3 and 4 giving PNG a chance to win bi-district. Big Ned will have no chance at all i said they would have to improve a bunch to beat these 3 and it looks like they have not
