1. Bridge City has the talent, the heart and the desire so it should be a good game
??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
Don't remember the fight in the end zone??
Actually I don't, but if it did happen, it takes two to tango.
No sir, it does not.  The ENTIRE coldspring team, coaches and all ran into the end zone.  You didn't see BC do that.  Either way...here's hoping for a good, fair and well-played game!!

5. ;D I'd like to give a HUGE thank you to the coaches of the Bridge City Senior Tackle team.  Our team has done so well this year and a large part of the credit for that goes to all of you. I wanted each of you to know that your work, your dedication and your passion for the sport has not gone unnoticed nor unappreciated.  You've also taught our guys to play with grace and humility and taught them that behavior and grades are EVERY bit as important as what they do on the field and I thank you all!
6. I am deeply saddened to have heard about the death last night of two beautiful little girls who were both NYFA Cheerleaders.  I offer my condolences to both the NYFA and the parents of Cristin and Katie.  They and their families are in my thoughts and prayers.
7.
I just love how some of us buy the concession items, unload it , cook it, sell it, pick it up off the ground and the parking lot and some of us just complain about what we run out of or what we don't have that they want!  Jump on the work truck, we'd be happy to let you drive for a while!
hear hear from one who has done all of the above!!  ;D
8.
Last year Nederland Black was in the #3 spot behind Lum. Blue and Lum. White,   Lum. Blue had already beaten Ned. Black 28-19? and Lum. White had also beaten Black 29-16?, both scores made the games appear some what close but they were not, both Lum. teams had won soundly. Nederland Black came back to beat both teams, Blue in the semi's 34-6 and White 26-6 to win their 2nd straight superbowl title, and beat both soundly, anything can happen. If Black played each team 10 times I think Lumberton(both) would win more than they lost, but it's about rising up for the challenge, Can we win today. These teams are close enough in tallent (BC,PNG,WOS,Lum) that the team that really is better prepared to play this saturday will win.
football04 is ABSOLUTELY correct, it's anyone's game to win or to lose, it all will come down to who is the most prepared mentally and physically because all four are formidable teams!! ;)
9.
Bridge City vs Lumberton Blue ??? PNG Purple vs WOS ???
I pick BC - Lumberton Blue has improved tremendously during the season, but so has BC and we have beaten Lumberton once before.  So....here's hoping for a repeat.  I think it will be a good game too, Lumberton will give BC a good run for their money! PNG Purple has an awesome team too, so I have to go with them!
10. ok, for the record, COOLERS, ICE CHESTS, SNACKS ARE ALLOWED FOR PLAYERS AND CHEERLEADERS ONLY!!  For personal use they are prohibited, which means no one BUT the players/cheerleaders should have any food or drinks brought in.  Now no one is unreasonable, if there is a medical reason for carrying the food/beverages, no problem.  If it's just you don't want to buy the food/beverages or don't like the selection, tough.  Wait until after your game, no game lasts longer than two hours.  As to not liking the selection - have you ever gone to a restaurant and asked to bring a coke in because they served pepsi products and you didn't want them?  I think not, just handle it just like you would anywhere else.  All concession stands offer a variety of drinks/foods.
11. WOS....get ready, you will need to serve steak, baked potatoes, desserts, gourmet coffees and teas at your game...God forbid you serve 'concession stand type food' prepared by volunteers at YOUR games.  Does anyone hear the sarcasm in my statements, 'cause I am laying it on kinda thick to benefit misguided, misinformed 'people' (I'll be nice) here. Seriously...WOS always has a great concession stand, keep up the good work!
12. PNG 26 - Lumberton White 6,  BC 48 - Nederland White 6.  I'd like to also say that the Nederland White team is a great group of kids!!  After the game was over, my son (who is on BC's senior team) was helping me finish out the day at Orangefield and some of the Nederland White players walked past him on the way out of the stadium and more than one told him good luck next weekend which I thought was super classy of them and spoke highly of their character.  I wish more kids were like that, they are a credit to themselves, their parents and their coaches!!!
13.
but everyone has a problem with people bringing in food/drinks for the fans at a youth football event when we need every penny.  I don't. If someone is bringing in food, it's for a reason. They can't afford to eat out or maybe they prefer something else. Whatever the reason, too few do it for it to be an issue.
LOL, ok tragichippy, I stand corrected.  The individual associations have a problem with it, not everyone.  read my last post, it may clear what I am saying up.  Thanks!
14. LOL Queen, I found Orangefield's prices to be very reasonable too.  I was there at the playoffs for 14 hours yesterday and I confess I left to eat at lunch time because I didn't want to eat concession stand food all day.  The real problem is not someone feeding themselves, but people who bring entire picnic baskets, coolers and even worse try to pull a pit to the field and bypass the concession stand all together for large groups of people...i.e. tailgating at a youth field.  That is where most of the associations draw the line.  Will I say something to someone bringing their own sonic bag in, or their own individual food?  No, but will I stop someone with an ice chest for their group (not the players or cheerleaders, but just spectators), or a picnic basket for a group?  YOU BET!!
15. Get Some....you are SERIOUSLY misinformed.  I don't have a CLUE where you get your "surplus funds" information from and truly don't care.  I can tell you that at BCYRA for one - and more are in our situation than not - we DO NOT have a surplus of funds and depend solely on the concession stand to pay our officials, buy equipment we need, pay for our lawn equipment AND TO OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS to furnish equipment and uniforms to the kids who cannot otherwise afford to play.  So...is asking someone to buy food at our concession stand ridiculous?  NO, and if it is, don't eat, it's a two hour game, just wait, that way no rules are violated and no one else decides to do the same thing because they saw another do it.  No association has a problem with drinks being brought FOR THE TEAMS, but everyone has a problem with people bringing in food/drinks for the fans at a youth football event when we need every penny.
16. Queen - the same as last year $3 for 18 and up, $2 for students 13 - 17 and 12 and under are free.  Plus, your admission is good all day and if the games are played at more than one field, it's good at all fields. ;D
17. The schedules are being made today, but while we are waiting for them to be posted, everyone planning on attending playoff and super bowl games be aware that there will be an admission fee charged at these games.  This is for the STJFL to be able to pay for referees, field use charges, security and last but not least for the medals and trophies that will be awarded to all teams in the playoffs and/or the super bowl and for the cheerleaders who perform at the super bowl.  At the playoff and super bowl games, the STJFL takes on the responsibility of paying the referees instead of the hosting association.  Plus, if the super bowl is filmed for DVD's, the STJFL fronts the money to guarantee the crew will be there to film.
18. Good post queenb.  I hope everyone keeps this in mind over the next few weeks when they have to pay admission too.  For the playoffs, the STJFL pays for the refs, but also for the field use fees, security fees, and for all of the medals and trophies for each team whether they are eliminated in round one or play in the super bowl.  So...please remember this and be aware that admission fees are charged at playoff and super bowl games.  AND remember the STJFL is completely non-profit, so all money taken in goes back into these games. See ya at the playoffs!
19. WOS won fair and square, they played an awesome game, the had some VERY classy fans, I was selling programs last night and WOS had some of the nicest fans bar none we've hosted!  Good game WOS, I wish it had turned out differently, but we were outplayed!  Congratulations!!
20. Same to you queenb - best of luck to everyone also and have safe, fun games!!
21. Just to clarify, the Pro Bowl players are made up from teams who are not in the super bowl.  The number of players is determined by the number of teams sending players, NOT the records of the teams.  Records have nothing to do with anything in the Pro Bowl.  It is open to all, and each team is eligible to send the same number of players as each other team within their division/location (i.e. north or south, pee wee, jr, sr.).  Now that doesn't mean that all WILL send the same numbers - just that they are offered the same opportunity to do so.  Good luck to everyone at the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl games next week!!
22. Hi Queen! The gate fee is as follows: $3 for adults, $2 for students, 10 & under free This will be at ALL fields for the playoffs and the Super Bowl games. Just to elaborate some, the STJFL is a non-profit organization, which equals NO MONEY..lol. The STJFL pays for the referees at the playoff and super bowl games as well as all trophies and medals handed out at these games, that is what the gate fees go toward. Good luck to everyone as we head into our last week of regular season play!!
