  1. I think each has a place of significance. For the one and two places in the order I think a good OBP is more important. For three four and five hitters I think batting average is more important, actually BA isnt more important - the point here is you want kids here that will drive the ball with runners on. I think they are both important but play different roles. Just my humble opinion.
  2. Jaren Ford and Matthew Pace are a lot alike. They both are relentless on defense - both play at a high level of speed and both can score. I love the way both of these guys play basketball - the way they hustle. I have nothing but compliments to both of these young men. Having said all of this - my vote is for J Ford for private school player of the year.
  3. Recruiting service rankings are not absolutes, and perhaps you could influence recruiting rankings by writing checks - I wouldnt know. What I do know is that you can laugh at rankings or you can mock rankings but college coaches are paid and remain employed for winning ball games, and apparently a number of quality college coaches feel strongly enough about Tim Ferguson to have offered him scholarship opportunities. I think these coaches are the ultimate authorities on who are the leading performers, the ranked performers, in their sports and the evidence suggests that Tim is one of these leading performers. To suggest that a membership to a recruiting service can garner one this kind of attention is laughable. Congratulations Tim Ferguson - you have worked hard and you have earned it.
  4. This list needs to be renamed the Most Popular 30 Player Ranking. 16 of the 30 players from 6 schools? Some of these teams with 2 and 3 kids in the top 30 while omitting a couple of players from Westbrook, you are kidding yourselves. Most of this list is correct - most of the top talents in the area are represented - through all classes. But failure to identify Antoine and Malone from Westbrook is omitting part of the SE Texas talent pool. These two guys played big when I saw them beat Central and Ozen earlier in the basketball season.
  5. The Pre Season All Southeast Texas Baseball Team includes every local college commit to date with the exception of one, Cathedral's Nick Christopher - Lamar Commit. Nick deserves mention on the Pre Season All Southeast Texas Baseball Team.
  6. Roman Antoine and Sage Malone from Westbrook belong on this.
  7. Well again remember the private school players.... Ashabranner from Cathedral for the defensive award. Was 1st team all state, District MVP, and was a key playmaker for the Warriors this season.
  8. Katelynn Thompson - Cathedral Freshman - Newcomer of the Year
  9. Great Job Rob. Vanderbilt is getting a good one.
  10. Lets not start rumors over schedule changes.
