After collecting the District Defensive MVP award Cathedral Defensive Tackle Robert Ashabranner was named 1st Team All State. The Vanderbilt commit represents another Division 1 player from the Golden Triangle.

Todd will do great at UNT. He will have QB's from all over the state wanting to play for him. His summer QB camps at SLC draw QB's from all over the southwest. If he can get the QB's then the WR's will follow. UNT athletics is growing significantly in the area of fund raising and capital for growth. In order to keep the momentum a coaching change was in order and I think they made a wise choice. Todd had coached there in the past and with his name recognition he gives them instant credibility to grow the program with the current level of financial interest. Great move by UNT. The Mean Green will be atop the Sunbelt in a matter of 2 or 3 years. And they will do it with an offense that puts lots of points on the scoreboard thus making it fan friendly and thus alumni / capital growth friendly.

Boyd and Shumaker at Westbrook make a pretty good battery.

Gardiner is an awfully talented kid.

Tough call to make, best player in the area. If I had to pick one player it would be the Scott girl. Tough call to make because I believe we have a number of talented girls in the Golden Triangle.

Nederland takes the district this year. I also agree with Adminbaberuth - I like Josh Cabra.

I am surprised more of you havent mentioned J'coven Brown. That kid can shoot the ball.
