  1. ;D Hey tvc - heading down south manana (manyana), should I look you up?
  2. Well, so much for my good behavior karma, but - doesn't it seem strange that TPWD has done extensive research and can't find any evidence that wolves still exist in Texas, yet almost everyone on setxsports has seen them.
  3. Was at the game - Jasper just had too much size and speed for Splendora - congrats to both teams on a great year!
  4. Well, your close - he's 5 1/2 - my buddies got him on film for the last 4 years - 2 1/2 yrs at 10 point, 3 1/2 yr at 10 point, 4 1/2 yr at 11 point, and now at 5 1/2 he's got 13. Here is another view -
  5. "I have a Shimano Bantam 100 that is about 25 years old" - man, tvc184 you are showing our age on this one - I have several Shimano Bantams that I bought back in the early 80's - they are a little loose - but still ok!
  6. Ok, here is a legit 175 BC typical 13 point from my buddies game cam - this buck is on the Killam ranch near Freer.
  7. I agree! [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
  8. As I said at the start of the season - Haynes has been a winner every place that he has coached and ya'll are very lucky to have him! Your OC, Coach Orr is also a good one. Good luck !
  9. Well, how did it go? Give us a report!
  10. Well, I haven't seen the quail - but I have seen the mojados line up next to a fence like that!
  11. Worst - Huffman this year Best - Huffman next year
  12. I like Shirley Creek ( but it's a long boat ride from the south end ) it's not that big of an area but it doesn't seem to get the pressure the others do - if your gonna go that far you might as well stop by the deer stand area (every body else does) - deer stand gets alot of boat traffic but usually holds some good fish. Numbers don't seem to be a problem on Rayburn but keeprs are some times hard to find.
  13. All Shimmano for me - Calcutta's and Curado's !
  14. Well, how'd it go down there. My guys are getting some real good deer on the game cams - including one legit 170!
  15. Update from Los Cazadores - TEXAS' BIGGEST BUCK EVER! Come see this and all the great deer at the Los Cazadores Contest website! The largest non- typical whitetail ever shot by a hunter in Texas was killed by Marco Barrett on his ranch in Webb County in early October of this year. This HUGE non-typical scored 272 7/8 -- this in hard horn! There have only been two other bucks that scored more in the history of Texas hunting. The largest (the Brady Buck 285 B/C) was a pick up head and second largest (Fred Mudge Head 272 B/C) to my knowledge was also a pick head which therefore would make Barrett's Buck the largest buck ever harvested by a hunter in Texas. Unfounded rumors have been circulated by people speaking of that which they do not know. Marco's family has been intensely managing this property in Webb County for many years. There are no deer pens of any kind on this ranch and there has been no introduction from deer outside this property. Congratulations to the Barrett's for a job well done! Also of great note, two of the very best archery kills have been reported in early October. One of these monster bucks was killed by Brook Benson in Grayson County scoring 206 5/8 and the other huge bow kill was killed in Zavala County by Travis Berger scoring 194 7/8. We applaud these two hunters for their patience and perseverance! Judging by the results of the first 2 weeks of the season, this might shape up to be the best hunting season ever!
  16. Should be perfect timing - strong rut between Dec 17th - 31st - I'll be down there for a couple weeks bout that time!
  17. Where are you at in Maverick county and what part of the Killam do you hunt?
  18. Congrats to BH on a good game. My biggest complaint is that somehow BH gets away with a ton a holding - even tackeling the defense right in front of the officials. But, no excuses - #10 did a good job controlling the O, #34 is a really hard running and good RB, #33 is one tuff hombre - overall a very well disciplined team - I thought ya'll had a good fan turn out for such a long drive - good luck to BH on the rest of the season!
  19. From Beltway 8 or 1960 go north up Hwy 59 - past Humble, past Kingwood, past Porter, to Community Drive - exit Community and U turn over Hwy 59 and stay on feeder going southbound about a mile or two. Stadium is on the right at the sixth grade campus ( NOT at HS). Maybe we'll hook up at the half.
  20. Yeah, but I only do that when we play Huffman cause ETBU foots the bill on that one
  21. Been good - just wish my team could get it together! How bout you?
  22. How bout that - I used to hunt the Adolpho pasture on the Killam Ranch west of Freer on Hwy 44 - gate 13 ( back in the George Light days). Now I am over in Maverick county, north of Eagle Pass on Hwy 57, for about the last 5 years on the Kincaid Ranch next to the Paloma. The Chupadera and San Miguel sound very familiar!
  23. OK, I'll be the odd ball - New Caney!
