Another dose of one-sided reporting. Both teams are to blame and should be held accountable for their actions and this is from a parent of an Ozen Panther.
it's because it's a highlite film of plays not fighting.
They have a totally different highlight film for that right?  ::)
Couldn't tell ya.
Is it my imagination or are the 2 guys announcing this a bit biased??  One more so than the other??  He has an annoying voice...    ;D
 2.

I posted this earlier today in an existing thread, but felt it deserved its own... "I've been thinking about posting this since last night but was not sure if I should.  However, after reading several of the posts in this thread, here  goes... I think the tragic and untimely death of Matt Thomas, as unfortunate as it was, served to be a "turnaround" for the town of Vidor.  Many people that I have spoken with since shortly after his death right up thru today have taken a more positive view of Vidor as a whole.  As sad as his passing was for his family. teammates, friends and others he came in contact with, I think they can take some solace in knowing that this young man, of all people, may have been responsible for at least partially erasing the "image" that your town has portrayed (factually or not) in the past.  Isn't it ironic that, for a town that has been deemed as racist by many, it took the accidental death of a young, African American high school student/football player to reverse the thinking of so many both within and outside of the Vidor community.  If I may say without offending anyone, I truly believe that this was the Lord's plan for Matt from the beginning..HE does work in ways we may not fully understand...but it doesn't matter..we have seen already the positive changes that have taken place and I'm sure there will be more to come...I feel that Matt is sitting with his Maker, smiling down on what they see and him now knowing what his purpose on this earth was really all about. Thank you for allowing to speak my heart... " R.I.P. #28 and Thank You
I completely agree with this.. I thought the same thing... And may I say, please never apologize for talking about God in fear you may offend someone. That's whats wrong today, people are afraid they will offend someone when they speak about God, outside of Church. Mark 16:15  And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
Thanks OCTFEB, I fully understand and appreciate your comments.                        And Amen !! to the scripture you quoted.
 3.
I think there should be a zero tolerance policy for fighting at a high school sporting event. No matter what the circumstances, if you partake in this kind of classless show of sportsmanship while you are on the field representing your school, you should be dealt with quickly and severly.  Clearing the bench to protect or help your teammates beat on or hurt another individual is not a program that should be awarded with a win. Certainly, not a program that should be awarded with a trophy as being recognized as the best athletic team in that particular sport in the state of Texas. It frightens me where our society's morales are heading.
Right down the  [img][Hidden Content]]

Coaches and teachers have "NO" control anymore and it is not their fault. Bring paddling back to schools. Schools lost control when they quit paddling. JMO of course. Someone made a comment earlier about young people not fearing or respecting authority. BINGO!!!!!! Believe me it is at every single school.
I agree... bring the paddling and true discipline back.  Quit letting them get away with every darn thing.  There should be consequences to their actions.  I see kids everyday that doesn't know how to say "yes sir" and "yes mam"... when I was young my Dad slap the censored out of me for not addressing my elders with respect.  Excuse my french, but parents, teachers and trusted neighbors need to stop fearing these kids and start back being the adults.
I agree good post. Parents need to quit being a "friend" to their child and be a Parent.
umm.. I am a mother of a son who's dad chooses not to be in the picture. And I have no problem "rearend kicking" when necessary. I kinda take offense to that.
No offense meant..... a good whoopin' when required keeps 'em in line, be it from mom or dad.

The way things are these days, I would hate to be charged with "paddling" an unruly student.  Many of these kids have access to guns and knives (the way us old-timers had access to baseball cards and bubble gum)..and they think nothing of using those weapons against someone who was "disrespectful" to them.  Back in the day, when a teacher reprimanded a student either verbally or by corporal punishment, the student for the most part learned his lesson (even though maybe it took several times).  Many kids nowadays  don't respect nor fear their parents, let alone respect teachers/coaches or anyone else in authority.  Sad state of affairs but that's how I see it.
 8.
Yes Invictus, I said PRAYER!!! I'm sorry your progressive (liberal) philosophy forgoes the inclusion of the Lord in anything, but it seems to have worked with Vidor / Central / Ozen just fine and has brought amity between our schools and our communities. I haven't seen too many teams that leave a post game prayer wanting to bash each other's heads in. Morals come from God: if not, show me that all seeing and knowing document created by any humanist which even comes close to the Bible. Sorry to everyone else if I got on my horse about this; just not big on atheism. Congratulations to Lamarque on their victory and Big Congratulations to Beaumont Ozen for making 20-4A proud. You represented us well. See ya'll on the B-ball court.
[img][Hidden Content]]
