1. I predict that Cherokee will be played many times and the Ozen band will get tired of it and play their drum-heavy band most of the 4th quarter (and probably half of the third!) ;D
2. A school without extra curricular activities is a prison and nederland already has those. Smitty, you want to know what happens to a school without football?  Watch University of New Orleans...they are talking of stopping football because of budget concerns.  It will be interesting what happens to their numbers

Ahhh...dove, HF does have a talented group of boys in the middle school program, but I have heard a lot of them are moving towards the mid-county area.  This may be part of the problem as to why the high school program is weak.
Yes ol' wise one! What you hear is correct ;D
the sad part about them moving towards mid-county is that they will be little fish in a big pond and may not shine as bright in that big pond.  And then the high school program at HF will never be as strong as it could be.  I don't know the answer other than to have the varsity coach more involved in the middle school program.  As far as developing a little dribblers program out here, they have a GREAT program out here where the boys team consistently go on to nationals and make a showing in the tournament.  I wish they would stay out here and build up this program.  It would be great for the district and (I think) better for the students.

5.
lets asks the question. why doesnt these types of boards come up when png beats ozen in baseball 20-1 or when there soccer teams beats ozen girls 12-0. trust me those teams wants to bury the opposing teams. it seam that if you dont want to get beat like that then coach up your kids
Oh, but it did!  PNG got BLASTED by a whole bunch of people a few years back for beating central in softball 27-0 or something like that...even tho the coach did all kinds of things to finish the game.
6. First of all, are we really suprised Ozen ascted this way?  When my daughter played (2004-2008) they acted just as bad.  They are definitely better basketball players, but they don't know how to be good sports about it.  And I don't see this kind of behavior in volleyball or softball. Secondly, this isn't as bad (believe it or not) as when Central (in 2004) beat PNG 121-20.  They just wanted to beat us by 100 or more...not just reach the 100 point mark. And why is PNG so bad this year?  Honestly, PNG girls basketball has never been a powerhouse team, but not too long ago, they were playoff contenders (2007 i think).  They even had a play-off game against ozen and missed the playoffs that year.  I feel sorry for any girl that really wants to play and win to have this kind of year.
7. I totally agree with this coach.  I feel it is teaching these boys discipline and respect.  When the new dress code policy was enforced on the middle school boys in HF, there was all kinds of complaining by the boys until it came down to dress right or don't play.  They played because they dressed the way their coach told them.  I can only think of one or two that didn't play.  If these boys want to play basketball, they'll follow the rules. Soulja, I respect what you have to say, but like it or not, society judges EVERYONE by how a person looks before they even open their mouth.  Also, if you look the part, you'll be more inclined to play the part.  If you look neat and tidy, you'll act neat and tidy. And, I'm not saying these boys aren't good boys. I know I just opened myself up to all kinds of comments, good and bad, but that's my 2 cents worth.
8. Don't know what time they open, but last week they openned them early because the lines were running into each other!  Also, heard of several tailgating parties occurring starting around 2 that afternoon.
9. PNG website said there was about 1500 left.  PA news said it was sold out, but i trust the school site more than the paper. ;D
10. That's good news for PNG!  we have a good track record there ;)
11. Is the PNG game for SURE at the butch?  I heard it was going to be at stallworth stadium
12. I think he's saying PNG is gonna win tomorrow... ;D
13. Cheermom, I don't think you need to get there THAT early for a good seat. I think you mean 31 hours.  Of course, being from PN we all know we can't count, only spell - and only 2 words at that - INDIANS and PURPLE!
14. Hopefully the turf won't be too LUMPY for them!
15. I would HOPE no one would make an important decision about where to live and raise his family based on an opinion board. But, if one were to read these boards unbiased they would realize that this board reflects the spirit of the community and how Port Neches is a place where the parents think alot of their children and how they are educated. Believe me there are a lot worse places to raise a family.
