1. That's the worst I've seen Nederland look since... ever... They just looked inferior. Wasn't pretty. I guess we all saw this coming but I hope they can start reloading in the future threw youth programs such as the last group that came through there.

Well, we are coming up on about a month until the first practice. How are teams looking with their new squads? It's time to get this forum kicked back up.
We have been keeping it warm for ya with the Collegiate stuff. lol
Sorry. I mean "kicked back up with High School topics or Setx topics."

 4.

Sharkie (or should I say soccer7), why would you use the pre-season rankings?  Hmmmm.  Oh yeah, that's the only one that lists PNG.  ;D  For the record, FHS is the number 1 team in the Region in the last poll and maybe the last two!  And, concerning one of your "other" posts (on another site), I do appreciate the homerism, but PNG is not better than, or as good as, Stratford or Santa Fe (or Texas City or Dawson for that matter).  But good luck vs. Midway, the best team PNG will face this year -- unless, of course, they get to play FHS.
Well FF,  Not sure if the Lady Indians or better or as good as the teams listed...because we will not get a chance to play them since most on that list is eliminated.  I can however at least say, we are better than Dawson since we defeated them earlier in the year at our tournment 2-0 without one of our key players. ;)  Thanks for the good luck against Midway...Our girls are Ready!
Just because you beat a team once at the beginning of the year does in know way make you better than them. I'm getting sick of your ignorant posts.
 5. And what were your scores against nederville?
 6. It was Vidor's senior night tonight and it just didn't turn out right for them. I thought the game was pretty even and if Newcastle and his pirates would have been able to stop Wagner, it could have been a different story. I think this was the longest soccer game in UIL history. I only got to see Nederland's goal because the one moment I get up to go the bathroom I hear that Vidor scored off a beauty direct kick. It was a clean quality game by both sides, rather large fan support, and a great game of soccer. Vidor has really come a long way this season and I think Newcastle has a lot to do with that. I've known him for a while now and the guy is a class act.
 7. Way to promote yourself. Thats what winners do!
 8. Did Nederland have injuries or failures or something??? I was at the PNG and LCM game which was my "Game of the Week." Anyone have any details of the game?
 9.
Very even game throughout the entire game, Nederland's goal came from a deflected ball off of the ref that resulted in a break away, great shot though. The refs were evenly bad in this game. They were terrible all night, there were 3 or 4 deflections off of the ref when a player passed the ball because he just wouldn't move out of the way when people got relatively close. They called an offsides on PNG that looked completely on sides (from my angle) and resulted in a great goal but was obviously called back. Any other opinions on this game?
like you said, "evenly bad". the same thing happened down on nederlands end. fast break from wagner to salenga for the goal but then called offsides. png was good at pressing nederland's threatening players with numbers and it looked as if the middle was flooded with purple. both defenses looked solid! good game by the keepers. nederland had one big crowd! clean good soccer game for the most part. well worth the 3 dollars.
 10.
where is Sharylang
Sharyland is in the valley ;D
i can't imagine them letting a soccer game occur there, but who knows.
Why would they not? The field is turf and marked for soccer already ???
 12. Did anyone else play yesterday? I want some scores :D
 13. Last year it was Colton Romero. This year it is James Trabing. Its sad that this board has come to this. I use to enjoy reading it when Bonmot, coachl, aires, bullets, shark, and the others were always on here. Now I have to read kids horsing around. Ridiculous
 14. My two cents of the soccer alumni games: These games were started as a way to show how the present teams compared to the past teams. They were taken semi-seriously by the alumni and seriously by the present team. This worked well for a while and all was dandy but recently the games have turned into a joke. No one takes them seriously, its a bunch of joking around by the alumni and is just a waste of time for the present team to be getting better. It is also one more game that someone could get hurt in. Of course, someone could get hurt in any game, but its probably better to get hurt in a game that means something that not. People seem to think that these games were designed strictly for the alumni and I'm sorry to say that high school coaches are looking way further than to be worrying about there old players getting to play again. No offense to anyone but the alumni have graduated, they (we) are not in any point of focus and until the game becomes vastly less competitive (which the opposite is happening) I just don't think coaches will even take the time to schedule alumni games any more. Is it for the better or worse? IDK.. Cheers.
 15.
Vidor is a good team w much more depth than I realized. Williamson shows up, then vidor probably pulls this one out. First time for me to see Ned this year and I expected a whole lot better team...  Keep playing hard Vidor w out the officials instigating that 6 pt run in the 4th quarter you guys would have been right there. Very Impressed w Vidor's transition into district play from that weak schedule.

A lot of people have been hating on Vidor, but I think they made a statement tonight. Mancibo stepped up big, and if some of the other big players had knocked down a few more shots, Vidor could have come out with a W. Vidor will be shaking up their district this season, I think they proved that much. They have the potential to anyways. Vidor played well, Nederland just played better. Great job both teams. That was an exciting game.
Shoulda Woulda Coulda. If only I would have just made every single shot in front of those pro scouts I'd be giving lebron a run for his money!
 16. And Nederland beat Friendswood last year who is ranked ahead of them this year. Nederland also had a very close loss to last years number 4 team in the state, Boerne Champion. Nederland also has won twice, tied once, and lost once to last years state runner up, Kingwood Park in the last 4 years. Last year Nederland V PNG the record was 1-1 against eachother. PNG almost lost against Central there final game which would have gave up their COdistrict championship to Nederland which Nederland had beaten Central (5-1?) the week before. PNG had the first seed going into the playoffs so I would expect them to have a better chance. I got all these facts from the message board last year. If you want to throw numbers into the rankings then there they are. The rankings are good for nothing but these types of arguments. Until PNG starts contesting other top ranked teams then they won't be in the rankings and that is all there is to it. The rankings are voted on by the coaches around the state. Nederlands coach if I remember correctly has been there for 1 year while PNGs coach has been there longer than that. If coaches were to vote for their "friends" team I would suspect that PNG would have the advantage there due to Sandell being in the high school soccer mix for longer. Nederland also is of course going to get the benefit of the doubt based on the success of their program. When I played at WOS, Nederland was a STATE powerhouse and teams earn respect like that, and that respect doesn't just vanish. Is it completely fair? Not entirely. Does it mean anything at all? No. Is it good to light a fire under players, fans, and coaches? Definitely. Cheers
 17. oh and i am a vidor grad before soccer was even there.. so no ties for me either.. just saying the best should be on here nomatter from what team
 18.
I really have to disagree with PNG getting 13 kids honored, 8 of which were either first team all-district or award winners.  Also, Nederland with 11 is too many.  24 of the 44 kids honored came from two of the seven schools in the district.  Those two teams were definitely the best in the district, but come on.  and for the record, i'm an HJ alum with absolutely no ties to any school or player in this district.
??? why do you care from which teams they are... all district has become an award that is very little honor for the exact reason your saying.. i dont care if the whole all district team is from port neches or nederland or whoever else.. if all of them are truly better, then whats the problem.. it shouldnt be all-sympathy team should it? the best players should be on here and if you want to cut down the spots then just cut down the number of people on each team,
 19.

I want to make sure that my comments were understood to be a generalization and not any criticisim of Chloe, a great player. From all I know she is a dedicated, talented kid who works hard and has improved. I did not see but 3 PNG games and don't have any idea idea how many times she scored more than 3 goals. Don't care, becasue it probably wasn't that many and she would have had a tremendous Super Gold year regardless. Shark futbol is correct, celebrate these kids accomplishments. I will stand by my statement, however, that if you have a hat trick and your team is already up on an obviously weaker opponent, it is usually time to pass the ball even if you have an opportunity. I hope she gets 60 next year. SETX needs quality players and she is one of the best.
Wow!  I would have never believed that there would be this much said about a girl who has accomplished so much!  We have a "Soccer Player" in SETX..who led the STATE in scoring; and all we can do is talk about the "perceived" negatives...Come On!  Lets stand behind her accomplishment and congratulate a fine young woman.  As far as "standing by your statement"; you apparently have NO idea how Coach Bates Coaches!!  As far as your statement about her work ethic...it is true; she is a hard worker!  As far as she has "improved" ...I would like to know how you judge improved ? And who you are judging her improvement against?  Give Credit to a young woman for a great year...Dont Question how games turned out if you did not see them.. and last but not least RESPECT the coaches coaching the game!
was he or she not just giving credit and saying what a great player she was????
 20. all teams got what seems to be a pretty equal share. nice! im a vidor  guy so congrats coach wedel!
 21.
First of all, last night's game was epic. I would have considered it a great game if it had gone either way but I am glad that Lumberton won. One thing I am wondering about though, in football before the game they talk about good sportsmanship from the players AND the fans and students, where does that go to by soccer season? Although last nights game was rough and should have had at least one more red card than there was, that gives noone the right to boo these young ladies and I heard that on our side. Also, it is inappropriate to congratulate a player who makes a flagrant foul. That being said, UIL, maybe you should consider requiring the sportsmanship speech before soccer games too. Good luck Lady Raiders, bring it home for us so maybe FF will finally shut up.
why do you care so much what the crowds do?
 22. i would say the only team that got "slapped" was first year hampshire fannett. who beat 37's second place team.
