Until someone decides to stop Splendora's misdirection, I do not see the district shaping up any differently from last year. There were times when teams would put 10 people within 4 yards of the LOS and Splendora still moved the ball. There are other teams with better team speed but until they get Splendora's offense off the field, they cant score. Luke has spoken!

Great Season for all involved. Just got a little "carried away" I guess. Its kinda hard not to when you read some of the posts that are made before the game is even played. Just goes to show you that this is one heck of a big state and that there is good basketball played everywhere. I have had a chance to see a lot in my time and have seen even bigger upsets than this one. We are all blessed to be surrounded by such athletes. Good luck to WOS in baseball and track. I would wish ya good luck in football but you guys don't need any luck in football!!! Luke has spoken!

Shocked!! Why? Seems to me we had people onhere during football season thinking the same thing about The Silsbee-Splendora football game. A game Silsbee was lucky to win. The boys from Splendora are well coached and will battle anyone tooth and nail, even the so called "mighty" teams from 21 AAA. I can promise you that! Luke has spoken! Out

Congrats Silsbee and hats off to the Cats. You guys in Splendora have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of!! Unbelievable football game!!!!

Hey biggen, I think Splendora already has "props" from 22AAA, they won the freakin' district in 22AAA!! I think you meant 21AAA.

Well I am here to eat a little crow! I thought Splendora would pull off the upset and for a while, I was looking like a genius. People, I saw the best football game I have EVER seen last Friday night in Conroe and I have seen a lot of football games over the years. This one had just about everything a football fan could want. I have to admit I was pulling for the Cats but I have to give Silsbee some credit, they overcame a lot of adversity to win that one. Splendora had to play a perfect game to have a chance to beat Silsbee and they almost did play perfect. My God, I have NEVER in my life seen a a group of young MEN play as hard as the Splendora Wildcats. Just looking on the field and looking at the players, there is no reason why Silsbee should not have beat them by 30 or 40 points. Silsbee is bigger, faster, and stronger yet the game was decided in the last 5 seconds with a missed field goal by the Cats. There were some bone crushing hits by the Splendora "D". The simple fact is Silsbee is a better football team but Splendora physically whipped them ALL NIGHT, even Silsbee's big men were hurting! But the bottom line is that the Cats could not stop the big plays. Speed kills and ultimately, that is what cost the wildcats the game. Best of luck to the Tigers. I chatted with a few of the Silsbee fans after the game and you guys are a class act!! After you guys go on and win the state championship, make sure you look back and remember those CATS! Guys, Guys. No doubt Mr. Brooks could help any team in that district throwing the ball, IF THEY WANTED TO THROW. And no I don't think all the coaches would take him as their QB either simply because the top 3 teams in that district do it the old fashioned way, they RUN the ball and control the game! It's all about philosophy and its pretty obvious that running the ball successfully is at the top of the priority list for Splendora, Coldspring, and Liberty. Every team has different schemes and good coaches match their QB with the schemes. I think Brooks fits quite nicely in Tarkington's scheme. If the coaches over there feel they cant run the football, they have to do something else like throw it 30-40 times a game. If you throw it enough, you will be successful eventually. I bet if you combined the attempts for Splendora, Coldspring, and Liberty, they would not equal Tarkington's attempts. Does that make Tarkington wrong, no! Its just a matter of philosophy. My philosophy is run the ball til they stop ya and if they do stop ya, run it the other way! Luke has spoken!
