tubbs has said that this area will only support fbs over the long haul.it will support fcs for a while but moving up would be the goal of lu football.he also said we would start fcs and the succes and fan support would determine the move. Then no FBS at Lamar because we will not average enough fans with FCS and the coach selection will make it worse. fans wont be a problem for the several years.

exactly.lamar doesnt put a lot into the track program.having 65 great athletes on campus will allow the track coach a luxury he doesnt currently have.

mens track will improve greatly when the football players hit campus.

lamar had a lot of hard hit balls right at somebody.thats the breaks.

You want to compare apples to oranges. Ok, Houston is 1 year older than Beaumont. So why is Houston so much bigger. Beaumont had spindletop yet Houston got the rewards. Why? because of the same type of thinking on this board. Houston built more Hospital beds in the last 5 years then all of Beaumont in the last 90 years. Those hospitals brought jobs, that created jobs, that created more jobs. Houston continue to grow. 2 years and counting, yet Beaumont is still debating the 3rd hospital. What is the excuse? There is a national nursing shortages, its best Beaumont wait until the shortage is over. Did Houston wait? "its best Beaumont wait until the shortage is over"/"Lamar should wait until it win" BTW, the nursing shortage is pushing 25 years.... houston sucks.i dont want setx to become a houston.

Intended OOC SOS 2008 - Not available 2007 - 74 2006 - 84 2005 - 89 2004 - 68 2003 - 70 Lamar has floated within reach of that top 75 number as far as intended OOC strength of schedule goes. Guess the teams were not producing and the SOS went higher. lamar sos is the best it can be playing in the slc.this years sos is a little higher because some of the teams we play are down.in most years our sos and 40 wins gets lamar an at-large. Exactly, LU didn't get an at large bid in 05 or 06 and they had a decent record. 05 they went 38-23 and still no NCAA Regional. The last time LU had 40 wins and got an at-large bid was the 1987 season 40-19. Usually they win the conference tourney with 40 wins and don't have to worry to see if their selected. You have to schedule teams like Rice, UT, A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Florida year in and year out with a couple of quality wins and I think 35 wins would get you an at-large. didnt lamar get an at-large in '04 or '05.

lamar,shsu and tx state are all within 3 shots.tempted to drive over there and catch the ending.

lamar uses 5 pitchers to 1 hit the cajuns.lamar wins 3-0.maybe we can use 5 pitchers every game.

lamar is a little down this year.it happens to every program.weve had a ton of players drafted and its hurt our talent pool.gilligan was counting on needham,walker and a few others to step up and be the man but it hasnt worked out.he will find the arms in the offseason.as for now,we have a good of a chance as any to win the slc tourney.i dont see a dominate team in the league.very similar to basketball,where anyone can get the bid.
