I dont see Lumberton Blowing out Crosby. I hope I am wrong. I dont think the kids think this will be a easy game either. Now to the one that is lost in space. If you think that Crosby puts 400 yds off. on Raidernation and we still win you are on good stuff.

How can two players on a 4 & 4 team (Grogan-Bellows) be talked about as a MVP???? I love the team loyality but Think about what MVP of this District means. I understand they may be MVP of a 4 & 4 team but not this District.

I love where most people had the Train at if they had them on there at all. Then Lumberton wins District above PNG,Ned,Central and Ozen. LOL

PEOPLE pleeeese remember this is the Most Valuable Player not the best athlete on the field. Take away some of these players from the team they play with and you don't notice.Take away Hanna from Lumberton and I promise that you will notice. I am not taking anything away from any of the other players just saying to remember this is a MVP award not the best player on your team.

Those #'s are fun too look at and nice to throw around. Lets remember that most people think (acording to these boards) that the teams in 20 4 a stronger teams. That doesnt mean that I think the 20 4A teams win all these games. Livingston prolly beats any team other than Dayton easy but may lose to Dayton big. I agree Dayton may be best team in area but lets not throw out the #'s they put up against weaker teams like this.

Thats funny right there Last time Bronco Stadium had 5,000 fans in it was when the 20 4A teams played there last year!!

You are kinda correct the best skill player will not be in Blk&Gld but they do have some great Players from big Ned. Probably the 2 best players in this game will show up on a Train Fr. Night. Not taking anything away from the Ned. Rout Runners but they may touch the ball half as much as Hanna or Beard on a average night and then on Def these same 2 young men may lead the team in Tackles. This should be a great game!!! Good Luck to Both teams it will be fun to watch the Ned off go against the Train Def.

I hope this is a great game. RG look for me, my son and I are coming down to cheer for the Fighting Cards. We won't be hard to find we have Baseball in La. earlier and will be coming straight there and will be the ones wearing Gold and Black with the big N on our shirts and hats. Funny Lumberton plays Ned. Fri night in HS Football then I will be wearing the Blk-Gld Sat. coaching the Ned Baseball team. Then Sat. Night pulling for those Cards.

Vidor beats Livingston PNG beats Central Lumberton beats Nederland Vidor,Central and Nederland all have same District Record! Stranger things have happened in this District!!

Going to be a great game I dont think either team will look at this as a Scrim. One wants to prove they are a real playoff team the other wants an out-right District title. I agree that no one wants to see Dayton in first round, but you may have to play them sometime anyway. I would like to see AC on the field but not if he is not healthy. I do think that the posters that are saying that this game will be won by 30 or 40 points have no clue about HS football. I rememebr last year how all the Raider fans heard about the high flying OFF. of Ned. and how the Slow Raiders would never slow them down. MMMMMM Rememebr what happened you MEMBER dont you. Remember the two teams that beat you and put up big #'s well-- the small,slow Raider team beat both of them and neither one put up Big Off. #'s. With that being said I don't think this means that the Raiders win anymore than Ned. beating Vidor (who beat Us ) means Ned wins. I think it will be a great game and should be close. Good luck to both teams and may both teams end reg. season with no injurys.

I was also told by a coach that it was possible for AC to play next week. I would only remind every one including Us Family members and all his fans that this is a teenager, with a chance to play FB at the next level. I know that his Dad will do the right thing and keep him out if there is a chance to injure him more. I hope just like all the Raider fans that he will be back on the field soon. I also want to ask other posters to remember that not all Raider fans are acusing png players or coaches of trying to injure other players.

(tl;dr version [too long;didn't read - basically means a summarized version] at the bottom) First of all, I read these forums quite often, though I never post. To establish who I am, I'm in the Band at LHS, but rest assured, I guarantee that I am extremely unbiased because I love watching football, and that's that. (The only exception concerning bias may be UT =D HOOK 'EM) Second, now that I've said that, I go to every game, as that is required of all band students, and on that particular play when Anthony Beard went back in the game, the hit happened right in front of the band. I know for a fact that the guy that had the tackle went straight for the knees. From where I was sitting, I can't tell if "U" is correct when he says that PNG was going for Beard's knees the whole game, offense and defense, but I guarantee you that if you saw what I saw, you would have no doubt that Beard's knees were the target, not Beard himself. At that time, I thought nothing of it, considering I watch NFL games all the time and see targets painted on knees all the time, but I do agree that HS is completely different from NFL. You aren't paid any more or any less for winning, so intentionally causing an injury is pretty awful. Beard's knee status was an intentional result. That's all I'm saying. Don't attach the bad reputation that Lumberton posters have on this forum with me. I may be a senior at LHS, but I'm well-minded enough to not fabricate claims or make arrogant ones, not to mention that I have pretty extensive experience on forums. So basically (if you didn't feel like reading all of the above): - I know for a fact that whoever tackled Beard was going for the knees on purpose. - I do not deny nor claim that PNG aimed for Beard's knees the entire game. - I am not claiming that PNG played dirty on purpose, if at all. What was stupid was putting Beard back into the game hurt. The coaches were to busy trying to win the game than worrying about this kids future, he should've never went back into this game period. I wont use the word Stupid but I did think it was a bad thing handing him the ball as soon as he went back in the game hurt!

Ok everyone knows I am a Raider fan. I am also Kin to Beard and think the world of him as a player and a young man. I agree with alot that has been said on here. Yes I think the PNG players tackled and blocked low all night. Yes players are taught this from a very young age. Yes AC is bigger and hits harder than most players trying to tackle him. Now was the PNG def. trying to hurt him? I think that every Def. tries to hurt the other teams Star players a little. Now let me clear things up I said HURT not INJURE. I really don't think one player could hit AC and Injure him just because they wanted too. This will not doubt be a HUGE loss to the Raiders Def. but this means that its time for someone to step up. If there is any chance at all that AC could have a long term injury if he plays again this year I hope that everyone involved makes the right choice, he has to bright a future for it to end on a HS football field. I understand that this could happen to anyone at any time and I would not say that the PNG Def. was trying to Injure AC but if I see or hear Bragging from PNG players that they were trying too, I will speak out then. Trust me I would hate to know I had to hit AC above the waist to try to tackle him. My Prayers are with you CUZ get well soon!!!!!!

By the way SHORT I as well have nothing against Central. I have commented that I thought Central has some classy young men on the team as well as good athletes.

I love the way some of you Fans from other schools just assume that because you read or heard that a school had not made the playoffs before that That school's Team had been losers for 40 years. Please look at things before you post I agree Lumberton has never been the fav. team in this or any other district. Look at some of the records though please 8-2, 7-3, 6-4 these records have been achieved more than once and missed the playoffs. Lumberton could have went last year with 2 losses and missed the playoffs. Please remember that this district is not like some of the weak ones in the area, you could miss the playoffs every year with just 2 losses. This year is a great example a very good team will get left at home and they are taking 4 from this district!!!! I agree some Lumberton fans get on here and say very dumb things that make people want to root against us. I just ask that when you get mad at them please remember that its not the kids on the field doing this in most cases. So feel free to talk down to the dumb poster's but please leave the Team out of this and refrain from calling them losers! On the other topic I dont think we sit anyone that is not really hurt against Ned. Play the men that got you there. I do think that Vidor's Homecoming game is the biggest left on the schedule. OK this sounds good unless you actually know whats going on... Don't forget there is a team history forum on here... before last year Lumberton had 5 winning seasons, Thank you for naming 3 of the 5. 2 of of the five winning seaseons were in the modern era 3A in '90 & '91 (The only two years in 3A)... In '94 they were had a winning season but it is misleading because they were 2-3 in a five team district, so it was the panseys in non district games. In '95 they were 3 - 2 in district; they beat up on the district "Cellar Dwellars" Lincoln and Bridge City and Ned caught a whipping in '95 too (GO Train)... In 2001 they had a winning season but again went 2-3 in district... If my calcs are right Lumberton lost only 2 games in a 4A district once ('95) but it was a 5 team district not this massive 8 team district. Along the way there where numerous 0 to 3 win seasons... Now... You guys are the powerhouse Train... Running over road kill along the way that includes my Jags!!!!! It is great and I simply love the team after watching them play twice. What is there not to love about hard nosed, discipline football? Outside of two, I really have no respect for the fans of Lumberton on this site! However, I appreciate the kids that are there now and wish them success, hopefully we all complete well in the playoffs, and be positive represenitives of this district. Question? This year Central played right there with Lumberton for 3 quaters and beat the team that gave Lumberton there only lose. Now the fans are picking the team that L-Train embarrassed to beat Central! Remember the teams that brag about winning the district played the same teams we did. Dont like to predict a game that has a team playing that I know nothing about, but my heart is with the Fighting Cards Best of luck RG and tell the boys that the old Cards are pulling for them. Be careful on the trip and stay warm. Think about us when you go through Lumberton!!!
