  1. After watching this game, Nederland is far and above a more skilled team than Lumberton. Lumberton did seem a little more athletic, but by mid season NHS will be a 2 goal favorite. Nederland also seems to be better coached, but the Lumberton coach seems better than your average "football coach forced to coach something else" guy.
  2. Hefner was making 1st team 5A teams as a junior, back in the BCP days.
  3. It doesn't take much to make the all Ned team. Probably go with Weaver, though he was way too cocky for his own good.
  4. Has there ever been an NFL game with 2 RB's competing against each other from the same HS in SETX, much less the triangle? Or did we just see history with J Johnson & J Charles?
  5. I just hope that the powers that be open this position up throughout the state. We have some great coaches in the area, but you never know what is out there. There are only a few jobs in the triangle that could bring qualified coaches from all over (WB football, Ozen Bball).
  6. I don't know how much I would put into JV seasons. Larger schools (at least 4A and above) tend to use this as a buffer zone, if you are an excellent freshman, you either move up to V or stay with the freshman A team and work with that group. Check how the 9th graders do, that is your real view into the future (though having a good JV is always a good thing).
  7. 1. Rudy sacking the GT QB (hell, the whole last 15 minutes) 2. Robin Williams shaking Dr Death to make the big catch in The Best of Times 3. Forest "Charles Jefferson" Whittaker freaking out in Fast Times. OK, the ball is rolling, run with it.
  8. You can draw from the classics (Rudy, The Longest Yard) or the obscure (Forest Gump running for Bama)
  9. 1. North Dallas Forty 2. Rudy 3. The Longest Yard 4. Remember the Titans What other ones are there that have not been mentioned? Here are a few, though I will not say the are great: Little Giants - Al Bundy and Bob McKenzie as brothers, how can you go wrong Jerry McGuire - a little stretch
  10. Great kid, but he played really soft, did not like to lay or take the leather. How is his future as a track guy, wasn't he really good?
  11. As good as some think the small schools are, eventually the shear numbers of the big schools will begin to impose their will. If it was a one half game, things may turn out a little different. WB (easily) Dayton WO-S NED PNG K'ville Jasper Lumberton Newton Where does PAM fit in here?
  12. By a HS coach who was unhappy with his hotel service "I don't know much about hotelin', but I know this. If you were a HS coach you would be 0-10 every year!"
