Well lets see...........Hamshire Fannett had all of 3 freshman try out for their baseball team. We went from three teams last year, to barely being able to field a jv and varsity team. That doesn't say much for our baseball program. Its looking pretty bleak for the years to come. By the way, one of the 3 freshman quit already.

Why is it that every thread on here ends up a discussion about Kirbyville?????????? Just wondering

And also.........as far as the 3rd QB being moved to JV to work on his QB skills, he has only played 1 game at that position. How much work did he get????????? The second game was rained out.

The QB is not the problem. You can switch all you want to. We have QB's who can throw but you have to throw more thatn 7 or 8 times a game. You also have to have someone who can catch. Its easy to point fingers. I have seen numeous balls fall right through the recievers hands, but lets slam the QBs. My opinion is, the coaches know there is no hope for the rest of the year, so lets work on the future by finding a new QB. Funny how that works.

So now its the coaches responsiblity to take care of kids who have no parents at home?????? Please......Extra Curricular activities are a privilige not a right. They are earned by keeping your grades up. That is probably why our countrys education level has dropped so far behind the rest of the world. Our priorities our out of order. These same kids will become nfl and still get arrested for drugs and other crimes. HMMMMM

Ok....here are my thoughts on the issue. We are in school primarily to get an education, regardless of what some people think. I know for a fact that points are give to athletes so they can be eligible to play. The teachers and the coaches are not doing these kids any favors by giving them points. When and IF they make it to college they will not survive. If the coaches are so worried about a players grades, they should make sure the player is taking the extra time needed to pass the class without any under the table help from the pressured teachers. No...these kids should not be able to play on JV. Obviously rather than being at football practice until 730 at night they should be home studying.

Grades will definitely be an issue in Fannett. I believe there were 40 some odd players at progress reports who were failing. Maybe they all passed who knows. It wouldnt surprise me

HF doesn't have 10 seniors returning....people are dropping like flies. In a 3-A district you have to hold onto all the players you can. There is an internal struggle there about whether you are a baseball player or a football player. In a 3-A school this size you better have several that are both.

Hmmm...we have been hearing that in Hamshire for the past few years....lets see what happens now...lol

I dont know what HF is thinking....they better start moving some players around or it will be an ugly year. That team is not even close to being able to compete in the district they are in. Just because some of these kids did well at the freshman level does not mean they are ready to Varsity. That was very apparent in this "scrimmage".

I really havent heard anything about HF football yet this year. Not even really sure who he starting QB is. Do they know or are they just keeping it all under wraps. Let me know .....I know they will be a young team this year, but the JV did ok last year and they have a few talented kids coming up.

As a parent who sends their kid out weekly on buses to attend games, I am very saddened by this tragedy. My prayers are with these parents and families. It makes us realize how important each day is with our kids.

I am taking HF over BC.......Over confidence will kill that team..Can't wait
