Dayton      14 Friendswood 7 Final
when did frienfswood score. They never kicked off once.
I saw the game you obviously missed.  Ya, Dayton dominated the controlled part of the scrimmage, but it was pretty even during the live part.  To answer your question, Friendswood caught a 64yd pass and was run down at the 4.  The next play they punched it in with a HB draw, with about mins left.  Dayton took the lead again with like a minute to go on a 70yd pass.
Sure was nice to finally meet you BrenhamFan.  By the way, who was the guy behind you with the ruffled feathers?
2. Just arguing the point of competing all year.  BH wins the argument of most titles in all sports.  Just proving Dayton did advance in several sports all year.  If we want to get picky Dayton won a regional championship in powerlifting and advanced 2 lifters to state.
3. Don't know about that.  Dayton began the year advancing farther in football and ended the year advancing farther in track.  Between those it was basketball.  That pretty much covers the major sports but I will give you baseball.
4. In past years there has only been one week between district and region.  Unless they move one of those two then it will be district then area and then region in consecutive weeks.
5. That is correct.  It appears that the vote is merely a formality.  Everyone I've talked to has said it should pass.
6. UIL website said they are voting on it June 12 and will keep the Regional as well.
7. One of the new amendments they are voting on June 12 will be to add an Area round to 2A through 5A in track.  Top 4 from District will go to Area and the top 4 from Area will go to Region.  The reasoning is that fewer athletes will go to Region therefore cutting down on travel expense.  I think the format will be the same as football.  For example 19-4A vs 20-4A for the first round. I think I will like this. What is your opinion?
Oh and another point to be made out of that statement, Antoine was on the Panther relay teams who advanced to regionals this year, and came very close to advancing to state, Dayton didn't have that same success in track, so the fact that his brother runs track their probably means nothing, but of course football or other reasons could play a factor in a decision that big, but Dennis although he is from Cleveland he was in Liberty in middle and now highschool, people on this site kind of portray him as a guy who just "moved in " and took over, and didn't have anything to do with Liberty, and now saying he is moving on to Dayton, but he has spent a significant amount of time as an older student here in Liberty.
Yes Dayton did send an athete to the State Track Meet this year.  It was not a runner it was a thrower.
9. 4A Discus Reed  LCM  1st Oubre  Dayton  8th Shot put Reed  LCM  2nd
10. Matthew Oubre of Dayton is going to the state track meet as the 9th qualifier in the discus.
11. Dayton wins in the bottom of the 7th. Final Score Dayton 9 GCM 8
12. No new messages in my inbox.  Did you get mine earlier?
13. No offense Octfeb but he probably should have either not written the article or he should have done more research.  Those mistakes were pretty big.  Did you have an opportunity to see the article before it was printed?  It looks like it was written based on a magazine article that was published last summer before the season started.
14. [Hidden Content] About the newspaper article This reporter does not know Dayton football at all.  First, the offense was not Senior heavy, it was Junior heavy.  Second, Swayzer is an offensive tackle, not a receiver and third Williams wasn't even in school last year and we lost Dillingham in the third game with a career ending injury.  So I would not believe anything this reporter says, including his prediction for how the district finishes at the end of the year.
15. Oubre from Dayton will be there.  I don't know who else is coming from Dayton.
16. Matt Oubre finishes with a deadlift of 525.  Should put him at about #15 in the state in division 1.
17. Oubre got 365 on bench press.  Missed 405 and looks like his back is tightening up.  Only dead lift to go.  He is at about 15th or 16th right now.  Still pretty respectable for the State Meet.
18. Oubre got 585 and 600 on squat and missed on 630.  Bench press is next.
19. Will the results be posted anywhere?
20. Oubre finishes with a dead lift of 545 for a total of 1550.  He is the Region Champ for Division 1 Region 4 275lb class.
21. Oubre so far has 405 on bench and 600 on squat.  He is in first by 5 going into dead lift.
