I know this is hind site but there were more on here picking BC than HF???? How can you think this way HF is a quality team and has shown it spuradically this season but with wins over Silsbee, Splendora, and others. HF is the one of the top three teams in this district and hopefully will show it next week vs. Kirbyville.

Great effort by HF tonight. It was a good recovery from the two straight losses. The team played well and dominated the game in all areas as they did against Silsbee. I still say HF is one of the three best teams in this district although they will have to have alot of luck to make the playoffs. I hope the kids play Kirbyville well to show they are the a playoff caliber team and set it up for next year. I saw alot of jersey's standing on the sideline tonight and still a good game plan with alot of new faces. How bout the efforts from the soph. QB who filled in tonight in spots, I bet he had 100+ tonight. Good job to the hF kids and coaches, the Horns have a bright future with the direction of Coach Mangan and his staff. A BRIGHT FUTURE. I'm proud to be a HF Longhorn fan.

I missed this game for the first time this year. What kind of coaching decisions were made that were poor?? It sounded to me with the stats and comments on here and in the press that OF got after us, and we had some more bad luck in the way of injuries? HF had only 2 possessions in the first half and scored on one? What did you see that went wrong?

man there are some true idiots in this world. What a classless statement to make about an individual and his staff. I assure you this PLOY has taken place at every game win or lose home or away. What an undignified slanderous statement to make about our kids and our coaches, you should be ashamed to even think that way. Congratulations to OF and good luck, we in HF feel our program is moving in the right direction especially when we are teaching are kids more than just win or lose at all cost. Society may want to take a few lessons at what truly SCHOOL is about, teaching kids how to be better citizens in society. WE ARE DOWN BUT NOT YET OUT.

AggiesAreWe is exactly right in what he is saying: No district championships have ever been decided by tie-breaker systems. It would go down as a tri-championship. Points will determine playoff seeding only!!! But that scenario is a pipe dream anyway. One of those teams will have a second loss, mainly Kirbyville to HF, and probably Jasper to WOS although Jasper is capable of beating WOS.

Why would you or anyone ask that question?? Coaching change?? I watched the game between Silsbee and HF and Silsbee is a good football team and is doing the right things with the players they have. The scores they put up against BC and OF were impressive. How come we weren't asking about coaching changes before the HF game? HF came ready to play, take your hat off to them and their coaches but don't rip Silsbee staff, They have a great history of success and will continue to have success. My rebuttal was directed at that person who said respect was noy due HF just because they won this year. Got it!!!!!! Now as for you 9 out of 10??? well I guess the 1 was this year. I believe without a doubt 5 wins will lock up a playoff spot. So at 5-2 I think your in then if it gets 4-3 it gets complicated. KV (2-1) has Silsbee, HJ, BC, HF left. HF (2-1) has Jasper, OF, BC, KV left. Jasper (2-1) has HF, WOS, SILSBEE, HJ left. Silsbee (2-1) has WOS, Jasper, KV, HJ left. A win by H-F friday will pretty much lock up a spot for them unless they lose out because they will hold tie-breaker head to head over both SIlsbee and Jasper. KV has next best road but losses to HF ans SIlsbee would put them in 4-3 range. KV/HF last game of season. Silsbee has to win 3 of last 4 to get in the picture. Jasper needs 3 out of 4 to assure getting in. Things should be clearer after this week or not??????

The HF Horns will have to play as well if not better this week to beat Jasper. I sincerely hope the Horns are up to the challenge because this will be a great game. The winner of this game will definitely have an upper hand at a playoff spot. I think HF has OF, BC, and KV left, where as Jasper has SILS, WOS, and HJ. I can't wait to see it. Go get them Horns. That was a bold prediction ST4life!! Any team making too many mistakes will lose. But I believe the turnovers were even so what was your definition of TOO many mistakes. I saw the game Friday and HF was a better all round team last friday young or old. Will they be this Friday, only time will tell. That is why they play the game. Track record in the past was losing to Silsbee so I guess that track record has changed????? No one has made the playoffs yet but all teams coming out of district 21-AAA will play at least 2 weeks into the playoffs. Good luck to the HF Horns the rest of the way. Beat Jasper!!!!

Unbelieveable statement coming from a team that put up 55 on a team the week before? Can you say Hypocrite?????? Besides with the way this district is shaping up it could definitely come down to point differential. I sure it nothing to do with running the score up, it may mean the difference between HF getting in the playoffs or not!! I honestly thought the fake punt call that set-up the last TD took guts!!! Don't turn the HF win into something classless because you can't be any further from the truth.

So you have been at all the practices and all they do is run the ball in practice? Do they try and throw the ball 20-30 times during the game? Where is your information coming from horndawg?

Well they have beaten Splendora, Liberty, WOS, and HJ, and Humberto knocked out the EC game.

I shouldn't even waste my time on this "Ranking", but the credibility of this one has definitely been compromised when it comes to many teams, such as HF. They are ranked tied for 15th? Their two losses (2-2) are to the the #1 and #3 and beat #14 handily but yet still ranked below them???? Go figure??

I will agree with all on here about the HF effort vs. WOS. The Horns showed up for 3 qtrs and played WOS very tough. Offensively HF was not great but man give some credit to the WOS defense. I thought HF had a great plan attacking WOS right up the gut, because when they tried to go outside, that speed of WOS killed them. But it was a very good showing for 3 qtrs, but what would happen if they just played a whole game. Look out 21-AAA the rest of the way!!! Horns by 21 this Friday vs HJ!!!!

EC by 21+, unless EC has a lapse in concentration or desire coming off big win last week.

Roll Left 15: I am glad you confirmed the play I was referring to because the flag didn't fall until the HF kid was crossing over the endzone, "hesitation?" Secondly, your clear view could not have been that clear if you were on the HF sideline because the play happened on the EC sideline and it was the last kid on the line of scrimmage, so it wasn't clear view, cut and dry hold from your view! Lastly, the hold in question was called on an offensive lineman on a sweep play who had his hands comepletely inside the shoulders on the breast plates of the defender the entire play and it was a stalemate, with both running toward the sideline then if you remember with your clear view the OT clearly disengaged after the runner cleared them, the HF back was already 10-15 yards downfield before the REFEREE's FLAG not the LINEMAN's flag was dropped. If the linesman on the EC sideline had thrown the flag I would have agreed with his view but not the Referee in the backfield behind the play, no way!!!! I would love to see it on video because it was not a hold. If it was then holding should be called on ever offensive play by every offensive team. You know what makes it worse, I think it was the only holding call all night!!!!!!!!!!! And I was one of the few HF fans that was there the entire game!!!

This was exactly the point I was trying to make in my first post, that the kids of HF were not ready to play Friday night for many reasons. And one for sure being, they took EC way too lightly in first half of game, 26-0 to be exact. I hope the game continues as well because I would love to see it every year. It was a great atmosphere leading up to kick off and I too give next years nod to HF that may be why EC will not continue this rivalry because #1 and many others will be gone!

No one is taking anything away from EC and the game they played in the first half but you obviously weren't at the game because the "second teamers" may have been played througout at times but I was at the game and the starters were on the field for every single HF TD in the second half. And no I am by no means comparing HF to WOS, my only point was don't write off the horns just yet! A loss is a loss but it doesn't end a season. WOS lost to an 0-2 team in fact it was a team that won only 2 games last year. All I said, do you right them off as well? No you don't. You really don't think HF has a chance against Jasper, or Silsbee? Why not?Because of the HF past or is there something that these teams have shown or not shown this year that gives you your summation? Because it certainly isn't records or game performances. EC played really and took advantage of every opportunity but dont' say back-ups were in the game the entire second half. I will still take all you got that the HF Horns will win more than 2 more games this year!!! Like you are quoted as saying.
