1. Um i beg to differ. I was at the high school in 2009 and we lost to brenham 2-1 in our last round of playoffs. Not nederland, and if i recall correctly we beat nederland the two previous years BEFORE the districts split. Now yes in the years since we have moved out of there district it is not so easily decided as to who the better team is but i believe that record speaks for itself.
2. I wouldnt be surprised if HF beat Lumberton. I have watched Lumberton recently and this year is certainly a rebuild year, the Raiders will struggle this year if they cant get their act together and have numerous players step up. I will watch Lumberton with pride but i will be thoroughly surprised if they do well this year.
3. True. I stand corrected. One team out of four. Thank you for setting me straight
4.
of course district 38 is a way tougher district! im looking to see hf in a playoff spot but idk it will be tough, only time will tell what the out come is. good luck to all teams!
district 38 is harder? i remember this being the mantra from last years soccer season as well.. however, if i recall correctly and by all means feel free to set me straight if im mistaken, but i do believe that the teams from district 37 swept district 38 in the first round of playoffs this past season. No team out of 38 advanced past the 1st round
5. as to furnish me with a lumberton high school schedule for this season i would greatly appreciate it.
6. I love the ignorant mindless people that get on here and ramble about teams who no one expects to do anything spectacular as if by some miracle posting it on here will make it come true. As much joy and laughter i get out of it, its frankly annoying. Now yes programs in the area such as HJ and HF have up and coming programs dont get me wrong. However, they are in no way close to approaching the status of being a power house or playoff contender such as Lumberton, Nederland, and PNG. And i usually dont bad mouth specific teams but im going to have to set the record straight and explain to soccer that no one considers PNG the dominating force you apparently think they are. A good team, undoubtedly. But if you are so outstanding why havent you won out your district any one of the last three years?
7. Lumberton, as much as i hate to admit it, struggles greatly with everyone game. Right now i am very dissappointed and pray that we at least manage a winning season... Doubtful but thats the best i can honestly hope for.
8. Have you seen Allison Angelle on the back row as libero? Have you seen Emily Kosh the setter, a two-time all district pick? Plus there are several other girls who can play. No your right, they happened to be invisible when they played Lumberton. Obviously, as a Varsity player on a powerful team they can "play", I never said they couldn’t. But you watch teams day in and day out who have players that makes things happen that you would not expect because of their ability and effort they put into the game. I never said I didn’t see any other good players on BC, as you will notice now in hindsight when you re-read my previous post. I simply said she was the only outstanding performance I watched play.
9. Vidor having beat silsbee was a momentary weakness in their seeming "bulletproof vest", however, i have to defend silsbee in the fact that they have beat Lumberton at every opportunity presented to them and Lumberton beat Vidor so explain the balance and order in that equation, please
10. And in response to the comment about BC and silsbee... I have watched both teams play and although it will be a good game, i cast my vote for silsbee. Outside of number 6 on BC's team i didnt really notice any outstanding players
11. It was certainly an moment but in personal opinion the supposed "losers bracket" game between ozen and silsbee was a much more technical and fast paced game than the Vidor/ Lumberton game. I was not able to make the Vidor/Silsbee game but that was in my eyes the biggest upset...
12. about Lumberton. After the upset against the supposed vidor teams thats on the rise for the 1st place Position in the Hampshire Fannett Tournament (which included such powerhouse teams as silsbee, hampshire fannett and ozen) i'm wondering what everyone has to say. Being a devoted fan of Lumberton even i was surprised, so i know there are others among you with comments. Lets hear them
13. Rising above the all doubts and the opposition Lumberton claims the championship game. Surprising certainly, any comments or critiques about the tournament?
14. Allow me to correct myself lumberton is the best team in this [glow=red,2,300]Area[/glow]. Better?
15. So much for silsbee being able to win or for it to even be a close game...
16. Sorry to distract from the ridiculous monatony of this conversation but in regards to silsbee's soccer team, and not someone's birthday, they are an overall OK team. With a few studs in the front including Littlepage and then #10 they certainly have potential. However their defense is lacking and even with the presence of deavers in the back to try and make a difference one man cannot play four positions. With a 2-1 loss to vidor i was expecting a stronger team on tuesday night however was sadly dissappointed with a strongly lopsided offensive game by lumberton. Lumberton's defense looked bored for a vast majority of the game. Also, their keeper should not point fingers at his own teammates as he did on numerous occasions, it's cancerous personality's like that which creates problems. Overall good squad with excellent sportsmanship.
17. I hate to be just like everyone else and root for my own team but caleb schexnider from Lumberton is an amazing goalie and has greatly improved since last year. Brick wall in the back and makes incredible saves time after time. A little slow in the head but great keeper nonetheless
18. This post is a reflection of why HJ is a bad team. They have players on their team such as this with no soccer knowledge what so ever. We are no doubt a physical team but very few of the cards that we recieved tonight were well deserved. And as for the player on HJ that was injured, and regardless of how regrettable it is, it could not be helped. It was on a 50 50 ball and our player who was going for the ball accidentally hit the HJ player in the back of the head. In regards to having no class though i'm appalled. I had to, on more than one occasion, stop their player from speaking ill to my players, and at least our bench has the respect and composure to keep quiet during the game instead of making false assumptions and rude remarks throughout the entirety of the game. Other than that they had some very decent players and have improved since last year. The officiating was bad but for reasons differing from the before mentioned post.
19. Lumberton's last game against nederland was a tie, yes. However on the year we have tied once and beaten them once. However, considering the fact that they have yet to beat us, even once, i consider it safe to say that Lumberton IS the best in distrcit.
20. Well.. HOPEFULLY central wins against wos because that would not bode well if they didn't. I think PNG is a very good team but would not be surprised if ozen wins, and certainly looking for it to be a close game IF ozen has enough people that is. And as for the LCM v Nederland game my vote goes to LCM by 1. Playoff caliber game though if you ask me. Certainly worth going see. Too bad i have a game tuesday..
21. Regardless of the age old excuses of missing players and whatever other reasons you have when you dont score as much as you think you should have, is it true that two of silsbee's better defenders are inelegible and the starting goalie as of a few weeks ago quit? Heard it through the grapevine that this was the case. If so sounds like yall will be down a few players against HJ and if their midfielder isn't in the goal... who knows
22. I must admit i'm altogether confused as well. How does a win for lumberton prove that we aren't invincible. It should justify quite the opposite in my opinion?
23. I've watched both play and in my opinion i think LCM has the best chance of taking this district. With more of a scoring threat in the front and more well rounded offense, being able to both control AND play the long ball with the use of their athletes. They have good tempo and play good soccer. A few players that have a dirty streak but what team doesn't. LCM out front, nederland, then surprisingly i put ozen third. Criticize if you must but that's my top 3, for THIS district at least
24. Comments? What does everyone think about this? Expected outcome or upset? I'm interested to hear everyone's opinion.
