  1. if that were the case, shouldnt Ozen be champs every year?
  2. I'll take it that you, being a PNG fan, are the expert on obnoxious and arrogant fans.
  3. Great post Bon, but next time tell us how you really feel! I am definately not a Bob Bradley fan, you can tell from all my posts, but i agree with not taking players who are in the rhythm of the game out in the final minutes. I do think he should have left Jozy in and took Dempsey out however. And i totally agree with the Casey comment. What the heck did he do in the last game to make you think he was the right sub for the occasion?! I cant say too much negative about pops right now bc, at the end of the day, his team is still playing, but lil Bradley's comments are indeed a result of overemotions. I cant say that i dislike it, because America needs some kind of spark if they're going to make it past Spain! I just hope they can back it up! What a bitter sweet moment it was for me when Clint netted that goal. Like i've said before, the guy only shows up late in games, unless you're looking for someone to foolishly give the ball away for a counterattack. He has an embarrassing work rate, especially if you compare his to Landon's. I have also been waiting to see Torres and Adu. And No Beasley = WIN. Cant believe I'm saying this, but if we dont give up an early goal to Spain, It could be close! Bob just needs to bring Dempsey in in the last 20mins as a forward and keep Beasley on the bench!
  4. I just cannotfigure out why he even has Beasley on the roster when mentioning some of these "unknowns". I'm a beasley fan, but the guy has not played well for some time. Is he thinking more playing time and he'll come around? Come on, he's one of the "experienced players", he shouldnt need time, right?! Donovan needs to go to fwd. I'd be ok with Feilhaber and Bradley in MF. I am not impressed at all at Dempsey's work rate either! He seems to come alive at the end of games. Well we need that energy at the beginning, it looks like to me. he's a little to relaxed when coming into the center which is where he has coughed it up for several counter attacks himself. Man, we have a long way to go! I hope Bob and co. can figure something out soon.

  6. Hey fiveoclock, it would seem that your beef would be with the bb coach. Thats the only one that i could tell from on here is power playing. You've said it yourself that Coach Hopson worked it out with sb players and shares with the other coaches. And i can tell from the "pretty much" phrases that you have inserted your own words based on, what seems to be, sour grapes into his so called emails to you. And in case you didnt know it, the sb players go to every practice. Coach Hopson lets them come to soccer practice after sb practice. Sorry you're bitter, but i dont believe for 1 second he said the things the way you reported. I have heard him tell players, just like CoachL said, that it is not impossible to be a varsity soccer player after basketball is over, but it will be difficult. As a matter of fact, there will probably be several bb players playing varsity soccer at some point next year.
  7. Alot of the girls play multiple sports. It has to be that way. I think Lumberton is like less than 100 students over the 3a mark. For all sports to have success, they definately must share athletes. I know Miller played last year. I know that this year, basketball players didnt get to come to soccer tryouts or practices at all. I thought they did last year?
  8. What an incredibly disturbed person. I will definately say a prayer for you Mr. FF. You need it! Read your posts and you will learn the difference between bashing and simply stating an opinion. Or..maybe you won't. It's often hard for people with such thick skulls to do that.
  9. Dont expect a response. He's busy finding a Dallas website that talks about Denton Guyer and their 13-0 win last night so he can spread his wealth of soccer etiquette. Dont you forget, he sets the bar, being from FW, on what running up the score is. Oh wait, let me answer for him. We're from FW blah, blah, blah; you're from Lumberton blah, blah, blah; 10-0 is different than 14-0 because..............uh i said so, and we're goooood. Sound right?
  10. Well Nederland did beat Central pretty badly twice, so 14 may be out of reach.
  11. He cant, because almost all the negative posts about lumberton were by himself. There were a few bad posts about Friendswood parents and how brash they were. Sounds familiar to me. Apparently, we're not the only ones that have to deal with him trolling around. I did find these posts about Lumberton: Grapevine: "its the playoffs! NO MERCY! you send a message to the next opponent!" Thorton_Melon: "Hell yeah, it's the playoffs. Put you foot on the pedal and never lift it off." Grapevine: "if i put all the restrictions that i did on my team.. and they score 14.. fair enough! .. i would never EVER tell my team to STOP scoring.. i move people around.. play the bench.. socring only on headers.. two touch only, pass it back to GK before starting attack.. put the GK as a forward! i did all kinds of things. but Never say stop scoring.. if you want to tell you team to do that.. fine.. thats your thing... not mine... put its the playoffs! if people don't like lopsided scores.. tell UIL to only send the top 2 teams from each district and NOT 4! IMHO" I believe Lumberton had more restrictions than this guy mentioned btw. Finishing is part of everyone's practices. Why would you not work on that aspect of the game and waste a day of practice when its only going to hurt you later in the playoffs? Again, i believe six of those goals would not have scored on any team that didnt score on themselves or gave half a crp about being there, so no harm really done.
  12. Am i the only one who notices how FF dances around the posts he doesnt want to reply to? Did he not see the post that had all the state finalists scores of 16 or 15 to nothing? Still waiting for him to bash FW's and the other coaches. He also said that the 10-0 playoff score that FW put on another team was going to be 9-0 if it werent for an own goal, however he did not recognize the post that stated Central had three own goals and three more that dribbled to the goalie harmlessly and ended up in the back of the net. You were right Shark. You'll get no apology from this homer. Seems to me like he is the one hiding and waiting to reply to the posts he wants to. Man this guy has alot of time to waste.
  13. Women's Playoffs: 2003: Poteet 16 -Seagoville 0; Wylie 9 -Paris 0; Highland Park 15 - Dallas Smith 0 2004: Poteet 13 - Kimball 0; Highland park 16 - Roosevelt 0; Midway 15 - Sharpstown 0; Friendswood 9 - Hardin 0 2005: Midlothian 11 - Wilson 0 2006: Klein 9 - Lumberton 0; Friendswood 8 - Foster 0; Friendswood 10 - Waltrip 0; Tx City 10 - Westbury 0 2007: Rider 10 - San Elizaro 0; Friendswood 10 - Galena Park 1; Boyd 10 - Sulphur Springs 1 2008: Boyd 12 - Mount Pleasant 0 Three of these coaches are wearing rings. Nine others were in the State Finals. That's a long list of coaches for you to start bashing. You better get started Mr. Perfect. We're dying to hear about it. You might just be able to get them to call some of those kids, who have gone on to bigger and better things than soccer scholarships, and apologize for beating them. Or maybe you could just send a letter to Obama to have the UIL put a limit on goals that teams can score. If they go over, they would be replaced by Rec. coaches or something so everything would be nice and fair. I like this guy, he is fun.
  14. Girls play Magnolia at Magnolia on Tuesday. Boys play Brenham in Humble on Monday.
  15. What was their district scores when facing opponents Ned and PNG in district? More than 5-0? Three were own goals and three or four were no more than passes to the keeper that rolled between her legs. The passing drills started with 20 minutes left in the first half, and Central just stood around watching. Same thing for most of the second.
  16. "Perennial backyard champ Nederland -- a recent stretch of 14 consecutive district titles -- could still finish first as well". Champ? Wha? A recent stretch of 14 titles ended last year. And it shouldnt start back up this year if PNG is as good as advertised.
  17. Regulation: Lumberton Boys - 1 Jasper Boys - 1 Shootout: Lumberton - 3 Jasper - 0
  18. Well, dangit, i was getting there. My slightest margin was a little too slight. Good job Vidor.
  19. it will be a first-half tester for Vidor if they cant play like its a playoff game. If they lose focus and turn into mediocrity, it could be close. They should pull away in the second half winning it 3-0 or maybe more. If they play hard for the full 80.
  20. Since neither team had their leading scorers in the game, it will be interesting the next time around.
  21. Dempsey looked really awkward. losing balls on the attack, getting beat on every 50/50 it seemed. Donovan? He played? I would like to see Beasley take people 1v1 more and try to get to the middle just a time or two. It was a win against a team the U.S. should beat. Thats my opinion. Nothing really spectacular in this game for me.
