LC-M, Vidor shine at 22-4A track events Van Wade The Orange Leader DAYTON — Little Cypress-Mauriceville had three athletes qualifgy for the Class 4A Region III Track Meet while Vidor’s Jared Parker set a new District 22-4A record in the pole vault during the field events portion of the District 22-4A Track & Field Championships held at Dayton High School Monday. Vidor’s Parker cleared 15 feet in the pole vault, eclipsing the mark of 14-6 that he accomplished in last year’s district meet. Parker vaulted an area-best of 16 feet during the Bridge City Cardinal Relays in late march. LC-M senior Kendrex Salter topped the field by 10 inches to claim the long jump crown as he leaped 22-0 1/2 inches. Lady Bear Reanna Edgerton continued her winning ways in the 3,200 meters, clocking in with a winning time of 12:42.43. The Bears’ David Sicktich also earned a regional berth, placing second in the shot put with a heave of 48-9. Parker was joined in the winner’s circle by teammate Jared Williamson, who easily took the high jump with a leap of 6-4. Vidor’s Chad Beggs was third in the pole vault with a 11-6 1/2 effort. Beaumont Ozen had a pair of double winners. Sophomore A’Lexus Brannon won both the girls long jump (19-3 3/4) and the triple jump (39-11 1/4) and Jarrade Lee claimed both the boys shot put (49-6 1/2) and discus (159-5).
