Last year, I noticed that Nederland's games were getting little or no coverage in the Beaumont Enterprise so I emailed them and asked why? I received a email back from the one I sent it to and, sure enough, from that time on, Nederland baseball had better coverage. I think the sqeaking wheel gets the grease. At least it worked last year. They are lagging behind again this year, but so has the Bulldogs. When our play picks up, the coverage will pick up, I hope.

It's really amazing that we have eagles in southeast texas. I have lived down here for a long time and am just finding out that they live here. I had heard stories in the past of them up at Rayburn Lake but not down here. They are evidently thrieving very well. I wonder what other kinds of eagles are here?

Beau Helmke, Pitcher of Nederland in a critical game against Vidor; 1Run allowed, 4 hits, 8k's, complete game against a good hitting team.

These are/were nesting off HW 105 between Orangefield and Vidor. The nest is about 3 miles west of the intersection of HW 1442 and 105. I don't know if they are still there or not. The two young ones were getting pretty big and testing their wings so they have probably flow by now. They may still be in the area for awhile. Two adults were also seen at the same time bring food to the young, so there were 4 total.

Home plate ump here too. This was a bunt with runners on 1b and 2b. It resulted in a great play by the Dogs, with 1b Bellows fielding the ball and throwing the ball to SS Sampere who can be seen charging to 3rd to cover the bag as 3b McFarland is coming forward on the play. They got the force at 3rd. Nederland played that play to perfection.

Some picture of the Nederland Major 11-12 All-Stars; The game was played at the Nome Dome a couple of weeks ago. The other team is from Beaumont.

The Bulldogs are still snakebit. They hit the ball hard but right at somebody. Their pitching is improving by the game. Their fielding has improved. One of these days???----it could be Friday.
