  1. Gotta go with my Bears at home, however this will be a very tough test for them. Ozen must be a very improved team, and Green is definitely a talent. Hopefully LC-M can slow them down and stay in range to win. Turnovers will be huge.....Good luck to both teams.....
  2. Another good game to watch......Both teams will play all out for 4 quarters, this one may very well come down to the wire. If it is close in the last 2 minutes, beware Indians, these Dogs know how to hang on to the bitter end. Should be a real good ball game, both teams match up well, plus it is MCM! Good luck to both sides, hope everyone stays healthy.
  3. Sometimes I think we lose sight of what is at hand with our personal feelings. This should be a war of a football game, both teams are playing hard and physical and I feel like this could be one of the best games of the year!! Just to me, last year don't matter, this is a new crop of athletes and a new year. Emotions will be running high at the Pound, and two good teams are squaring off....My prediction-nail biter.
  4. You are right Skip, it had to be a lift for the Dogs to win over an always tough WO-S team. The way the teams fought it out, it will probably be a big learning factor for both teams. We need more games like that one that go right down to the wire. Good luck to both teams this year.....
  5. Congrats Bears, hopefully everyone will stay healthy....
  6. Brenham Fan, how about 8 baseball and 1 football at the end of this year? Good luck, there are a lot of teams that would love to start out in the same situation ya'll are in. Bring home the title!!
  7. My goodness Brenham Fan, could you maybe send a couple of those boys east? I bet the people in Brenham can't wait for football to start!!
  8. I didn't realize they had so many coming back next year. Losing Hunter is huge, but with the players returning that you listed the Bears may be competetive again....
  9. Keep them in front of you Indians. If you have to chase them down the field, it could be a long night. This should be another classic like last year, a real slug fest. Good luck to both teams, this is going to be one for the record books.....
  10. I must have missed the LC-M fans talking about being afraid this Friday night, it's just another ball game. If Ned wins, then Ned wins...If the Bears win, we are play-off bound. Hey the worst LC-M can do this year is 7-3, I'll take a season like this anytime. The fans at LC-M are proud of the football team this year, and not just because of their record. These are good young men who never quit, and will fight to the very end. Nederland fans know what I'm talking about, the Dogs always give it their all. No, we are not afraid of Nederland, but we do respect them, they have a rich and long tradition as being winners. With all that being said, I think this game is going to be too close to call. Good luck to both sides, and no injuries!!
  11. Nice post Skipper! Sometimes the real reason to watch and pull for our young athletes gets forgotten....
  12. Yes, Soulja, you do bring more than speed, but your team speed is what impressed me against the Bears. The Jag defense is stout, their passing game is good, they run the ball very well, but the speed KILLS. Vidor will have their hands full Friday night, but I feel like they will not go away......
  13. Having seen both teams play LC-M, they are big, fast, and physical. Vidor does not have the overall team speed of the Jags, but they are not slow by any means. Vidor will have a harder time running the ball on the Jag defense because they are so quick, but I feel they will move the ball. If Vidor can play error free football, this one will get very interesting....Plus playing at home, the Pirates feel like they can't be beat. The only prediction that I feel could be made about this game is it's going to be a very good one. Good luck to both sides, have a great hard fought ballgame with no injuries. And yes, both teams have a lot of class!
  14. Wow, what a game. The Pirates are for real, no doubt about it. Hunter was on the mark throwing the ball, and that allowed LC-M to hang in and finally close the game, but what a battle all night from the Pirates. It's going to be interesting to say the least in the last 3 games in the district. Good luck to the Bears and the Pirates the rest of the year. I'm sure glad we didn't have to play Vidor at their house...
  15. SLSBLAB, you are correct....Every Bear fan knows there is going to be a tough game Friday night against the Pirates. Vidor always plays hard and they are not coming over to lose this game. I will have to go with the Bears at home, but it will NOT be easy. Good luck to both teams, no injuries.
  16. Central is very tough, physical, and FAST, on both sides of the ball. If they get the Dogs down early like they did against LC-M, it's going to be a very tough night for Nederland. They really have no weaknesses, so how in the world do you plan an attack. Neuman and crew are very good, but I just feel the Jags have too much this year.....Just saying.
  17. Great game at LC-M, the Jags are just too fast, strong, athletic, etc, etc, etc. Bears impressed me by hanging tough and fighting back all night.....Jags impressed me with everything they did on both sides of the ball. For the rest of the district who haven't had the pleasure of playing the Jags yet, you will be amazed at the team speed. Hold your head up Bears, you will not face anyone better the rest of the season. Keep fighting like you did last night, we have a lot of football left this season. Great game!!
  18. Got to go with LC-M at home....Gonna be a big crowd, everyone around here is talking about being at the game. Come on Friday night, good luck to both teams, hoping for an injury free game.
  19. Going with the Bears on this one, although I think it will be closer than a lot of the predictions on here. Long plays by the Bears will be more difficult with the speed of Ozen. If LC-M's defense shows up like they did Friday night, Ozen will have a tough time moving the ball....Should be an excellent ballgame for the fans....
  20. Prayers to the Barbay family and the Newton community....Friday nights will not be the same.
  21. Vidor will have to cover very well against Lumberton, they can throw and the receivers do not drop passes. Vidor is coming together with a lot of young talent, and I know Lumberton will want to bounce back after last Friday night. This game could come down to the wire, with the winner having the last offensive possession. L-Train defense will have to step up to keep the ground and pound Vidor offense off the field. Good luck to both teams, this should be a very good one to watch....
  22. I agree TD, I think tonight might have helped the Mustangs to get back on track playing football. They seemed to get fired up when they came out on the field the second half. It was really a great thing to see, and just maybe it will help them get past losing Reggie. I know I will never forget tonight, and I'm not talking about the win for the Bears....
