1. I think they should name it the "Dr. Carrol A. “Butch” Thomas Educational Support Center". ;D
2. According to Ted, life after football is "leave a dent in the world for Jesus and...pretty simple"... too bad we can't all live like this.  Me included.
3.
I hope it is rumor.  This kid is amazing.  Maybe misguided priorities, but I guess what 20 or 21 year old doesn't at times.
RUMORED TO BE A BAT AND GUN , SHOULD HE HAVE USED SOMETHING ELSE ??? ??? ???  ;D ;D
4. It looks like the UIL wants to control more and more of the activities for the state schools.  Does anyone think there are enough administratorsand school districts that would want to break away form the UIL and form a new league and if so, could they legally do this?
5.

Question? I keep hearing HF had a good team once upon a time. When was this and what happened to the coach?
This pre-2002, Claude Tarver, he left and took the job at BC...
Tarver was a great coach. Also, Phil Danaher left and went to CC Callallen. Danaher had a 43-22 record in six years at HF, won 3 district championships and went to the regional finals twice. Then he went to CC Calallen and basically turned around a football program that had not reached the playoffs for 28 years, and took them to 7 state semi-finals appearances. We have had good coaches in the past, but they've all moved on to bigger and greater things.
Don't forget Les Koenning and his son, Les Jr.  Jr never coached in HS, but he was a heck of a QB.
6. Just let'em go at it. It makes for some good reading.
7. Have not been there, please describe.
8. The no helmet thing...I like it. It would stimulate the economy, more ambulances will need to be purchased, more EMT's hired, more nurses more $$$ for everyone. The hospitals and the medical field employees would be making $$$ hand over fist. Just think, the doctors could order all those unnecessary tests, x-rays etc. After all, as President Obama says, the doctors are just in it for the money. Insurance companies would get to increase the insurance premiums...it just keeps getting better and better. Oh wait, with universal health care just around, we will not have to pay for insurance anymore, because someone else will be paying for it.
9. Yes in deed I'm serious. Just think, rather than going home to watch the 10:00 Sports, fans would stay for the game, more corny dogs and sodas sold at the consession stands. The thrill of a possible come from behind victory. Just can't beat it.
10. I think the UIL should allow a team to do the following: If a team is behind...say 38 points or more. On defense, they should be allowed to jump offsides or use their hands on defense, coaches choice, but he has to declare which infraction he will use and must keep using it for the remainder of the game. On offense, the coach can elect to have everyone eligible for a pass or use 12 men on offense. Again, coaches choice and he must declare which infraction he will use and must keep using it until the end of the game. This will give the losing team the opportunity to get back into the game and maybe win and clinch that 4th playoff spot. NO TEAM LEFT BEHIND. What do y'all think. ;D
11. Is there an on campus store where LU caps and T-shirts can be purchased?
12. liar... take this post that i took from another thread: Ok i know this has been said be for but i think people wants to know. 20-4a why is it so important for nederland to win over other teams. it seems like the focas is always on nederland and png. what bout the underdogs they could come up fast look at lumberton last year everyone says thet it was a cenderila story well yea it might be but the season just started i think u colud think that bout some teams in this distract im not trying to faver lumberton i just think that they have always been the unestaimated in this class of teams maybe they have great choches like other teams in 20-4a. nobody got good grammar on this site. 15. We had dress codes when I was in school, but this is going to be hard to follow and harder to enforce. Good luck to all.
16. I wondered what happened to her. I saw her at the Bridge City track meet when she was a Freshman. She was sure fun to watch.
17. It's the Hamshire Falcons and the Fannett Longhorns. They got too big and split into two schools for next year. you laugh along time ago before the two schools merged Fannett was the Falcons and Hamshire-New Holland were the Bulldogs. Fannett wore Green & Gold and Hamshire wore Blue & White. That's how the came up with with Blue & Gold for the New school colors, as far as the Mascot I am not sure how they came up with a Longhorn. Maybe there is some one out there that can answer this. The students voted on the colors and the mascot. There were three mascots that made the finals one was the Longhorn, the other was the Bulldog and the third was the Tiger (could have been a Wildcat, I'm not sure), but the Longhorn won. Neither the Falcon nor the Bulldog was suppose to be nominated, however the Hamshire student did not get this message or ignored it. For the longest, most of the Hamshire students would get blue stones in their senior ring and the Fannett students would get gold.
18. Earl was the best, on and off the field! :'( :'(
