Texas Football Magazine mentions Cody Young as probable QB.
A tackle or a coach isn't going to help New Carney. They're dead last in the district in talent and don't have the enrollment to make up for it. You could put Gary Joseph over there and still not get to .500. Until NC benefits from the growth in the area they'll be competing with Porter for last unless they realign to district 18.
If this is true, Barbers Hill shouldn't compete either.  Talent is important, but its not everything at the high school level.  Discipline, preparation, and execution can win you a lot of games.  Look at Katy.  They run their machine and win ...but not many D1's compared to other schools like North Shore, Manvel
BH has a heck of a lot more talent than New Caney. They have a four year starter at qb who's a UT commit in baseball, the best rb in the district behind Walter and Jeffery, and last year they had the best lb in the district with Garrett Dolan in my opinion. Katy doesn't have a bunch of D1 talent but what they do have are huge offensive linemen and big backs that rush for 2000 yards most years like Dean, Young and Taylor. People on this forum always talk about hard work like the other kids aren't working just as hard. The kids at Crosby were throwing up on themselves while they were running this week but you're not going to hear me talking about how hard they're working because I know the kids at Dayton, BH, and SC are working just as hard. Coaching and talent are the most important things at the high school level. BH much like Deer Park is going to dump all the funds they need to support their program and most times you get decent results with that method, that's why BH is better than most others on the sub-high school level. It may get you to the playoffs but most years you won't have the horses to be a threat.
Good points ...I might throw in that if kids are tossing their cookies during summer workouts, they're probably showing up out of shape.  SC's kids stay in training year round and I imagine many other schools do this as well.  I still believe that New Caney could put a better product on the field with their current players than what we've seen.  When all else fails, there's the Katy model ...RECRUIT!  One solid running back from Humble or Northshore area could help NC win some games.
Thats the thing: Katy DOESN'T recruit, their coaching staff gets the best out of their players.  ;) Execution, execution, EXECUTION!  ;)
You keep believing that AND in unicorns.
New Braunfels Unicorns have gotten past the 2nd round in the playoffs before, something SC can only dream about.  ;)
And Northshore beat MANVEL ...something PAM can only dream about.
PAM has gotten out of the 2nd round and gotten a Regional Title recently....something SC will never have but can dream about  ;)

Problem is, I think the D scored almost as much as the O.  :o
:-X
HA!!! You know it's true. It's been a long time since I've seen a D score over 70 points in 10 games at the top level of competition. The LP D was averaging almost 2 TD's/game in 2011. The O stank. Catfish is a versatile and delicious type of fish that is usually associated with Cajun-style cooking. In fact, about 95% of the nation’s catfish comes from Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, and Louisiana. In traditional recipes, each catfish fillet is coated with a blend of spices and then fried or blackened in a cast-iron skillet. Did you know that catfish is one of the most sustainable species of fish? Most of the catfish we eat is farm-raised, which is very eco-friendly. In 1987, President Reagan declared the first National Catfish Day to recognize the importance of the catfish farming industry. To celebrate National Catfish Day, fry up some homemade catfish for dinner, or head to a local Cajun restaurant to sample a little taste of the South! Thoughts?
LOL!  PNG sure could use him.  They might win a few games this year.
Lmao!
Use him at whatever position that will help SC win a 2nd round playoff game
BG you love SC to death :-*
actually not, but SC is loving taking over for Barbie's Hill in 19-4A as far as good regular seasons & early playoff exits.  ;)
ouch!
We are 66 days away from the start of the Texas High School Football Season and today is......   National Catfish Day Today is National Catfish Day!
Im sure there's some "catfish" posters on here from a certain area by Lake Houston also, MTV needs to investigate  ;) ;D

Humble will be vastly improved over last year, but i don't think they can win the close games yet to get them a playoff spot.  I think we beat Kpark and CE king.  If Dayton is as one dimensional as they were last year, i can see Humble keeping it pretty close.  Last year Humble defense as not bad, it was our inability to sustain drives on offense that got us in a world of trouble.  Football is game of field position and keeping your legs fresh.    Humble will be very young, but Humble will be a lot better then last year.    I haven't read what Dave Campbell has said about this team yet, but i think in a year or so Humble will be back to form and in the playoffs.  With in two years i see us winning 19-4a or at the very least coming in the top 2 (a district i don't see us leaving)
Humble defense was pretty bad last year IMO.  Everyone on SC's squad scored in that game.  I think our cheerleaders had a couple TD's.  Nothing about that squad says WIN any time soon ...especially if SC hangs longer than expected in 19. If Dayton looks anything like last year, yes, Humble, New Caney, Porter, and KP all have a good chance.
Didn't that defense hold SC to 14 points in the first half?  lol A lot more goes into evaluating a defense then the number of TD scored against it.    Humble's defense was not bad, it was on the field the majority of the time.  Humble's defense didn't have the benefit of an offense that sustained drives and converted 3rd and 4th downs.  The Humble offense was the single biggest contributor to TD's scored.  I remember i was at a game and watched the Humble offense go 4th and out almost every possession.    When your defense is having to defend on its 30 yard line, every time....yeah, you are in some trouble keeping people out of the endzone.  Humble has some strong talent coming in, and Coach West has assembled a very capable staff.  Humble is not going to get runover like they did last year.. Why do you keep saying theirs a chance you are staying in 19.    No chance of that happening, you are moving up.  Unless you lose 200-300 kids out of no where, which there  is no logical reason for that to occur.    You will have 2200-2300 kids at the start of next season, that is a SOLIDLY 5a(6a) team.....
;)

Come visit SC ...see our trophy case ...its the largest and most full in Humble ISD.
Thats the thing: Katy DOESN'T recruit, their coaching staff gets the best out of their players.  ;) Execution, execution, EXECUTION!  ;)
