1. knowledge of basketball, and competency might help.  :)
2.
Very interesting that this meeting is scheduled. However, even if things turned around now, it would be a whole different attitude around town about Morgan. Support would go from 95 to probably 50 %. They need to get the mess settled either way.
true.  in the "old days" before instant communication, this could have been handled in a more private manner.  but it needs to be resolved quickly in some manner, join forces, and go forward.
3. can interested fans sit in?  ;D I am glad to hear that the Board will be meeting with Morgan without "management" present.  If Morgan has legitimate issues to raise, and has been unable to get them resolved working through channels, perhaps this will help clear the air.  A school board should not try to micro-manage the admin, but ultimately the board is responsible for what happens in the district.  no telling where this will all end up.  I do not expect it to happen, but if the Board should override the administration, it would not be the first time in the history of Jasper ISD.
4.
I don't think any of the coaches other than the AD had expectations of no teaching. AggiesAreWe is normally on track, but he doesn't know this administration like some do. It IS NOT just the teaching thing. It is promises unfulfilled, power to be obtained, and fear of losing control due to popularity. There are people in leadership here that have egos much bigger than Morgan's. He was not an ego guy. This is sad. It is just a sad deal. I don't think the board wants to deal with the issues in the administration. People can debate on here all day what happened, but in the end, it  happened. Now the kids have to start all over again.
if that is the case i guess we might have to wait for the egos to retire.  how many years might that be?  no one can work forever!  time to clean house?
5. well, unless he chooses to share the specifics publicly, we will all be guessing.  which is probably the best for all concerned.
6.
Read this today. Looks like he really had it headed in the right direction. [Hidden Content]
Without a doubt, Coach Morgan had it headed in the right direction.  But what does it look like for him now?  The going got tough, and he quit?  It is tough all over right now.  Is his next stop going to be any easier?
7. It will be interesting how this plays out.  I remember one young coach that Jasper had tender his resignation ended up staying for several more years.  As I remember, the Board refused to accept his resignation, and the hs principal ended up leaving instead.  Beware those good young coaches!  I never got to meet Coach Morgan, or even watch a Jasper game last Fall so I have no knowledge except what I have read here.  I am saddened by all this for sure. This I feel that I do know.  All school districts in the state are under tremendous financial pressure thanks to the legislature balancing the state budget on the backs of the kids.  Even so called "wealthy" districts have been having to make drastic cuts.  And Jasper certainly does not qualify as being "wealthy".  So I would suspect that any drastic budget moves made by the administration were pretty much forced upon them by under funding by the state.  I could be wrong about this; but unless someone somehow shows us that indeed Jasper is a "wealthy" district rolling in money I think the administration should be given the benefit of the doubt if in fact it was about asking coaches to actually teach classes.  I liked having coaches teach classes when I was in school.  Most of them were pretty good teachers as I remember.  Best wishes to any and all coaches that are leaving.  If they are as good as they were touted they should have no trouble finding other jobs.
8. Thank you for the score.  Congrats Dogs!
9.
34-30 Athens up at halftime! Silsbee better wake up
have to be careful with those 6 letter towns..........
10. Fairfield put a good ole country whipping on the dogs!  Jasper matched buckets with them for while, then FF started hitting threes, Jasper went cold on their shooting, and it was all over.  The best team won.  Congrats FF.
11. Fairfield won 51-41 over Gatesville.  Jasper was to play the winner.  Any reports on time and place?
12. Has Jasper scheduled a warm up game for this week? Or next as the case may be.
13.
Hudson beat Central both games.
in that case, the "history" on this site should be corrected.  that is what I was going by.
14. Are these scores correct for Hudson?  If so, it appears that they have lost 4 district games? Jan. 3 - at Jasper, 48-55* Jan. 17 - at Huntington, 54-66* Jan. 27 - Jasper, 43-64* Feb. 7 - Pollok Central, 60-75*
15. This clinched a third place at the minimum for Hudson?  Huntington will be second if they win next Tuesday or Hudson loses? It appears that Hudson has lost 4 district games and Huntington has lost 3.
16. Congratulations Jasper Dogs!  :)  18-3a District Champs!
17. Congratulations Dogs!  One more win clinches the District championship!  :) Apparently the new Jasper coach came to play basketball.  I have not seen them play this year, but he promised an up tempo game emphasizing defense.  For sure, something has been developing in Jasper.  :)
18. The Dogs need to win this game!  :)
19. Wow is all that I can say.  There is a new coach at Jasper?  My gosh, what has happened.  Handling not only Huntington at Huntington, but Hudson at Hudson also?!  Maybe the Dogs ARE on a mission.
20.
After 3, Jasper leads 44-23.
Thanks.  Simply amazing to have that kind of lead at Huntington!  Will it hold up?
21.
Jasper: Chance Mays, Lon Morris JC Nick Stott, Lon Morris JC Karrion Morrisey, Kilgore College Jarvis Adams, Navarro College Patrick Beatty, Navarro College Dion Beard, East Texas Baptist University Dillon Bryer, East Texas Baptist University
Congratulations Dogs!  I expect that we will hear some more good things about these players in the future.
22. Right here.  Just hoping we can squeeze into the playoffs.
23.
Huntington was up 17 with five minutes to play. Jasper started hitting threes and got on a roll.... A different style of calling over there.
threes?  Hmmm... ??  starting something new here for Jasper?
