  1. Great series PNG. Love the fight in your team. Best of luck to you guys next year.
  2. I know Montgomery and New Caney start Thursday night in Montgomery and then play Friday in New Caney. I believe the schedules are in the Chronicle today also. I know that's hard to believe.
  3. Yeah, thanks for the well wishes. Ty will move back to right when he isn't pitching, and the batting order may be how you have it regardless. But Nutt and Baker will have to play in the outfield when Ty is pitching, at least that's how it appears. I think Jacobs will be in the 9 hole though.
  4. BrenhamFan, great job. But the lineup may be a little different. The Cubs lost starting LF Colin Crenshaw to a broken bone in his leg about two weeks ago, so I see the lineup with a couple of different scenarios. I think when Ty is on the mound, Jesse Baker moves to LF and Shea Nutt goes to right. Jeremy Zettel will go to 3B in this case and Knebel will either hit for Ty or Jeremy. When Ty is not pitching, the lineup could also change depending on who gets the #2 starters job between Nutt and Kevin Kubeczka. Not sure that has been completely decided. Just my two cents.
  5. Thanks for all the great coverage Brenhamfan. Just wanted to let you that Crenshaw starts with a "C". The Cubs faced some great competition in this tourney and came out with only a 2-2-1 record. Brenham now stands 3-2-1 on the young season. Just need a few more timely hits and things will get rolling. Go Cubs!!
  6. Average? Shootin a little high there, aren't ya Bears? Be seeing you soon eagle and best wishes to Kendall this year, except if he pitches against us. Hey, guess you heard the AC boys swept San Jac this weekend?
  7. Just thought I would chime in, haven't been on in a while and I love the SETX passion. Just wanted to say congratulations to Kingwood Park and good luck to you and to Dayton in Round 2. I also wanted to correct the folks who have indicated that we were looking past KP. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our coaches learned back in '07 when we were upset in the 1st round by Austin LBJ to never look past anyone in the playoffs. They knew KP had some talent and would play hard, and so did the kids. This was just one of those games that when something could go wrong, it did.  You can't fumble the ball 4 times deep in your own territory and win against any opponent. Just too many mistakes, but I am proud of the Cubs and it says a little something about the fight in the team that they were actually still ahead with about 5 minutes left in the game. Best of luck to all the rest of the region in the playoffs, bring a title home.
  8. A little biased of course, but the Brenham-Waller game in 2007 was a thriller from start to finish. The lead changed  hands or was tied up on nine different occasions during the game. Tied 27-27 at the end of regulation, Brenham scored on a TD pass in the OT to make it 34-27. Waller scored on the very next play and after calling time out, elected to go for two and the win. The Cub defense stopped the run a half yard from the goal line and won 34-33. Needless to say, a great game from start to finish, especially with it being a huge rivalry game.
  9. Thoughts and prayers to the Garrett family from Brenham. Very sorry about this tragic event.
  10. Sorry to hear that, tough way to go out. The kids deserved to decide a game like that one. Great season PNG. Congrats Mustangs.
  11. Congrats Jerrod, and you too Dale! From another former Roadrunner.
  12. Only one other correction, the Cubs have NOT won 26 consecutive district titles, but they have made 26 consecutive playoff appearances. This number is still very impressive and it won't come to an end anytime soon. It is a streak that the players in Brenham are very proud of, but also lends itself to a lot of pressure on each new group of kids entering high school every year. They have a strong tradition to live up to, and anyone that thinks it is easy is wrong. Thanks very much for the article.
  13. Thanks CircleChange. Hey API Steve, we were just wondering what it's like to go through life being a whining, has-been, DEFEATED, PUNK LOSER that hides out on message boards. That's what you are, so you should be able to tell us. Congratulations to the Aledo Bearcats on winning the Class 4A Division II State Championship!! And to the Cubs, thanks for the great ride and many wonderful memories. With a lot of talent returning, should be a fun year next year as well.
  14. Thanks Tony. Enjoyed watching you play the last couple of years, hope your knee gets better in a hurry so you can get back on the field. Best of luck.
  15. ;D Oh, man this could be anybody from Jimmy, to Mark, or Todd. We have had several tote the colors this year, LOL. Can't wait til Saturday.
