  1. Just wondering...do you play defense for WH? If so, you probably should be ready to switch schemes seeing how he is the new DC.
  2. When you say "your defense was better than what he had", are you talking about athletes or the actual scheme?
  3. Boras won't negotiate with Yankees before season ends After the New York Yankees on Wednesday indicated they would break from tradition and negotiate during the season with Alex Rodriguez on a contract extension, his agent moved in quickly to define what it would take to keep the superstar third baseman playing in New York. And that would be unprecedented millions per season. In a telephone interview with the New York Post, Scott Boras said Rodriguez assuredly will become Major League Baseball's first $30 million-a-year player. However, Boras said he will not take up the Yankees' offer to negotiate before the season ends. "We are not going to be negotiating during the season," Boras said. Boras insisted he could see no way that strategy will change, saying "This is Alex's decision. This has been his policy, and I fully expect this to continue to be his policy." MLB sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney that the Yankees were willing to negotiate with Rodriguez -- under the condition that he agrees not to opt out of his current contract after this season and that he agrees to tack on any extension to that deal, which expires after the 2010 season. Even if his client doesn't go the opt-out route, Boras told the Post that there are existing stipulations in the current deal that all but guarantee Rodriguez would earn a minimum of $32 million in both the 2009 and 2010 seasons. "The way the provision operates, he either gets that or he can become a free agent after any of those seasons again," Boras told the newspaper. Approximately one-third of the remaining $81 million of the current contract is being paid by the Texas Rangers, which was part of the trade that brought Rodriguez to New York. Though the Yankees are underperforming so far this season, it's not Rodriguez's fault. He led the major leagues at the All-Star break with 30 home runs and 86 RBIs and has a .317 average.
  4. Maybe that's why he is shopping Texiera around. Hicks is not very well liked around here. If I was a Ranger, I would want to get out of town as quick as possible and if I was A-Rod, I would veto that trade immediately. Hicks is a guy who says he wants to win, but doesn't do anything to about it.
  5. Why won't these kids be on the field....grades, attitude?
  6. I just read this in the Star-Telegram Miami team's game against Carroll stays on schedule By TRAE THOMPSON Star-Telegram Staff Writer The football game between Southlake Carroll and Miami (Fla.) Northwestern High School is still scheduled for Sept. 15 after the Miami-Dade school board decided not to suspend Northwestern's season, said Dave Stephenson, president of Dallas-based Titus Sports Marketing, which is organizing the game. TheMiami Herald on Wednesday reported the possibility of a suspension because of a grand jury report of a sex scandal coverup that was revealed in December involving Northwestern running back Antwain Easterling and a 14-year-old girl. Easterling was charged with lewd and lascivious battery on a minor, according to TheHerald, which also reported that an investigation indicated that he received preferential treatment and wasn't punished. He played in the Bulls' state championship game last season and is due to play for Southern Miss this fall. The Carroll game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 15 at SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium and will be televised on ESPNU. Carroll, which has won three straight Class 5A state titles and has a 48-game winning streak, will face the team that won the Florida Class 6A title in 2006. Both are expected to be ranked in the top five nationally. Tickets will be available later this month at Dragon Stadium, $10 for adults and $5 for students. The price will be $15 for everyone on game day.
  7. Stephenville - Brownwood (Battle of 377) is a huge rivalry. These 2 towns literally hate each other.

  9. Too tough to call...Stephenville High School Branndon Stewart - QB at Tennessee and A&M (state champions '93) Kelan Luker - SMU and now playing in Rock Band "Submersed"....he was Dave Campbell's QB of the decade in the 90's (state champions 98) Kendal Briles - UT and UH...showcased his talents against PNG in the title game (state champions '99) Kevin Kolb - UH Star and 2nd round choice of Philly Glenn O'Dell - UH (state champion '94)
  10. never been to the big league dreams complex, but I heard it is extremely nice...the best complex up here IMO is Softball World in Euless...about 15 minutes from downtown fort worth. They really have some big tournaments up here and afterwards, a bunch of the teams all go party downtown....it's a good time and very competitive....your team should try and make a trip out of it...Did you play for Griff at LCM?
  11. Come on now Dickey...does that mean Ozen would lose by 100?
  12. They are doing an injustice to those players, the school, and community.
  13. You ever make it up to Fort Worth to play tourneys? Would love to play some teams from SE Texas...especially anyone that played for Coach Griff.
  14. So when are they going to make a decision? From the sounds of things, HD already had the correct coach in house and now they are dragging their respective feet.....Good Luck to HD this year.
  15. I see them going 4-1, with a loss to either Kountze or Buna....
  16. That was funny Bears99, now stay off your daddy's computer and let the grown ups play. By the way, I'm not a liberal...I just call things as I see them.
