  1. Stringer you did one fine job keeping them off balance..Gave up some hits, but you didn't let them bunch them together for a big inning
  2. That was the ace of their staff.. He only had 5 strikeouts.. I know you guys can hit their #2..Go Get Um
  3. Yes I was there for every pitch...How about you??
  4. Oh they are talented..BC just flat out played them...In all aspects of the game
  5. I did want to add. I think coach Bryant did a good job of having these guys ready to play against a top caliber team. (I will give him credit for that)
  6. Some tidbits....Stringer struckout their leadoff hitter all 4 times he batted... 8 out of their 9 hitters struckout at least once...12 total strikeouts (wonder how many times that has happened this year)...Carthage left 11 runners on base, several in scoring position.... In my opinion, the turning point in the game , was the 4-6-3 double play with the bases loaded and no outs in the 5th inning. Excellent pick by Bolton great turn by Hicks and good stretch by Warner at first to nip the runner..
  7. Condradulations BC, you opened some eyes last night...Don't let up now
  8. stringer 12 strike outs..pitched out of jams all night, scattered 7 hits and 7 walks (including 3 hit batsmen) only 2 runs that is an awesome job..Defense played very well..SS Hicks made a play that would make ANY ESPN highlight film...
  9. Didn't BC play Lufkin Hudson in a tournement earlt in the year??
  10. Good Luck and congrats to Dishon.. Do they have them seperated by 3A -4A-5A, or are they all lumped together?
  11. Hopefully they don't have to play any extra innings
  12. I have already cast my vote early on this subject, Mixon from Jasper. I also think Griff from LC-M would be a good choice.. I don't have and never had a kid playing ball in Bridge City. I just know what I am seeing now and what I have seen in the past. if you are not in the "Click" you are apt to get the run around, that is the bottom line...
  13. The score is 0-0 right now.. Lets see what happens.. The Cards have a good shot.. I think the Carthage district has some weak teams in it.. The better teams played them pretty tough.. Lufkin Hudson (2 close games), Liberty Eylua (2 close games non district) ( I meant to post this under this subject)
  14. Hmmm.. I wonder who occupant is talking about
  15. You just haven't talked to enough of his former players
  16. good point they are both good pitchers.. it would be a tough decision and I'm glad I don't have to make it..
  17. My point is you may be undefeated with a bunch of 10-8 wins, while another guy may have three or four 2-1 or 1-0 losses..IMO you can't look at wins vs losses only..You need to look at the whole picture
  18. I would have to disagree with this statement.. Nolan Ryan pitched for 27 years ending with 327 wins and 292 losses. This works out to be an average of 12 wins and 11 losses per year.. Some games your team just doesn't give you the run support you need for a win in a well pitched game...
  19. Most of these guys playing may have not even been born yet, but in 1990 the mighty Oakland A's were playing the Cinncinati Reds in the World Series..No one gave the Reds much of a chance, being the A's had names like Jose Canseco, Mark Mcgwire, Ricky Henderson and an unbelievable pitching staff..The Reds had no big names, no big homerun hitters, an OK bunch of pitchers...The end result, the Reds swept the world series 4 games to none..... It can be done.. Baseball is a funny game.. PS: I am not saying this BC team has an OK pitching staff or no homerun hitters..I am just saying on paper it looks like David vs Goliath, and I know what can happen in those type matchups... GO GET UM CARDS
  20. The score is 0-0 right now.. Lets see what happens.. The Cards have a good shot.. I think the Carthage district has some weak teams in it.. The better teams played them pretty tough.. Lufkin Hudson (2 close games), Liberty Eylua (2 close games non district)
  21. If I had to make the choice, I'd go with Meeks against their ace, Stringer against their #2 and Hicks if I win one of the first two....
  22. I have to agree good coaching job today..Lots of running and moving base runners.. Pulled Clark at the right time..Excellent job by Clark on the mound too....
