Yeah they were young from what I’ve heard , I know they were doing pretty good at a time , unless I’m mistaken them for another team with an M 🤣 shoot I could’ve been thinking about Mason or something brother …. lol

Shoot we know hearne all too well , don’t know what they return from last season .. but when we played them in district last year , they just seemed like a team to me that didn’t quite have it figured out yet … the athletes were out there for sure! But just seemed like they wasn’t getting in sync together … and marlin and moody will be the top 2! They always seem to be every year .. with thorndale right behind them … I could see a possible first round matchup being in Crockett for us ! If everything works out like I predict it will …

Yeah I forgot we in region 4 now …🤣 I’m not used to that ! I’m excited for it …. Cause for the first time in years .. we headed south for the playoffs n not north ! only way we’d see Hemphill would be in a quarterfinal match right ?

Yes sir !! I remember being at the game that night in lufkin , when kirbyville played them ! ARP had a dang good RB that year! we also played arp my JR year in the 3rd round at SFA! It was a defensive battle … score was 12-6 for a long time …. ARP ended up scoring late in the game to win 20-6 .. those were the few years CC had a ton of speed all over field … we almost beat Newton my JR year as well , lost 24-20 at home …. The whole state championship track team , that set the two state records were on the field for CC .. the good ol days for sure brother !

Newton and Franklin had a great team that year !! CC did as well .. we beat Newton 26-20 that year, it was a war… Had it not been for that freakish of a team kirbyville … we’d have been playing muleshoe at state that year! We gave them all they wanted tho… KTRE said whoever won , would go to state with no problems, and they did ! It was 7-3 at halftime.. but our RB went down in the 4th QT .. and we didn’t have but a freshman to put in .. just wasn’t meant to be .

CC is always looking forward to a match up with Hardin ! Always a good match .. and gets you ready for district . Hardins line will be the deciding factor this season again though I’m afraid .. we are gonna be on the small side on the D LINE.. what will help CC, is the experience on the line we bring back .. and the speed . Emmanuel foreman will be a force in the secondary… he will be a sophomore this year , first year to start on varsity ! He came in last year as a freshman on varsity at the tail end of the season .. anxious to see if he will be a head hunter like his daddy was ….. Eric foreman ! Former QB/SAFETY for the 02 CC state team .. he is starting at safety on defense , curious to see if coach Ratliff starts him at QB as well .. or at least brings him in some for a wildcat look.. his daddy was hard to stop on those play action bootleg passes ! If he didn’t have anyone open , he’d take off n be gone ! same #… same height… let’s see if he has that same DOG in em !! 💪💙🏈🦴😏

I know some like to look at strength of schedules.. and stats .. So here are some facts about both teams since district has started! CC has outscored their opponents in district 208-0.. centerville has outscored their opponents in district 201-28… both offenses have been impressive! But as the old saying goes.. the proof is in the pudding! CC will have an advantage in this game defensively.. I know some will say those points came late against centerville…. And that may be the case … But that Also says a lot about CC’S 2nd string defense… they have done outstanding holding off teams from scoring after halftime
