  1. good luck to you all as well skipper, win are lose I think its going to be a good one...
  2. IT's funny to me.....that you had to go all the way to Gilmer to find a team that you think would donkey stomp.... ( I'm not sure what that is. Maybe some new country dance you guys do out in the stix at night)....but anyway, donkey stomp Silsbee. I mean Gilmer is a good team, and if Silsbee did have to play Gilmer at some point, well, I guess that means Silsbee , as far as your concerned, is a pretty good team as well..... sssooooo.....Thanx for the compliment there, humperdonkeyman
  3. I think you've got it all wrong there skipper!!! I think the WOS coaches are hoping to see the Tigers put the ball in the air alot Friday night, but I don't think they will. I think the Tigers are going to use the size advantage they have and drive the ball right at WOS all night long. If Silsbee does have an advantage its their SIZE AND DEPTH. I know coach Bobby knows this, and I expect he will use it. I think Silsbee is going to eat up alot of the clock, and push the ball into the endzone. Silsbee has a very talented secondary this year and I'm looking for them to make some big plays to turn this game around. As for the QB taking some big hits....well I think he can take it, but he is pretty slippery, who knows he may not get hit all night. I can assure you one thing WOS's entire team is going to get hit all night by some very large bodies, and(not trying to steal your line, but it's a good one ) if they don't know this by now, they will find out Friday night....

Its not only the QB, but the team as a whole that disappoints me. Offense as well as defense. I know they are a better team than they've shown thus far, but their not playing to win, their playing not to loose!!!!
  5. sticky wrote : You sure you two guys are not Barbers Hill fans? Not me baby!!! I'm with the Tigers to the end!!!! It is frustrating to watch though. The Tigers have managed to win thus far on atheleticism alone, because there is no team work. Blaming it on coaching is the easy way out, and I'm not going there. The Tiger players need to ask themselves whats more important - seeing their name in the Saturday paper or a 3A State Championship in 2006 which they are capable of, but its going to take Teamwork, Dedication, Determination, Execution, and last but not least TEAMWORK!!!!! And so my fellow Tigers, ask not what your team can do far you; ask what you can do far your team!!!!
  6. Sorry kicker!!! Please understand, Silsbee is just a small town, loaded with a bunch of us dumb old country boys. No offence meant I'm sure. Meeting up somewhere sounds like a good idea to me. I'd like to get a look at that shirt myself.
  7. The problem is you can't defend the split veer very effectively. The QB has three options. If he makes the reads correctly its a very hard offense to stop, but Silsbee doesn't run the veer. They run the IF YOU DON'T MAKE ME HAND OFF UP THE MIDDLE THEN I'M GOING TO KEEP IT OFFENSE, and to this point its been pretty easy to defend. We the fans are still hoping that someone will tell them THERE IS NO I in TEAM. If they figure this out at some point and start playing for each other instead of for themselves great things will happen, and THE SILBEE TIGERS will be a very hard team to stop!!!!!
  8. I watched WOS twice this year. The scrimmage against Vidor and the Dayton game. They just had to much speed for Vidor to control, but the Dayton game was close until after half time, and then it seemed to me that Dayton just ran out of gas. I was very impressed with WOS's Offence and their ability to get the ball in the hands of so many different players, it's not so much that they have more talent on the field than other teams, but they play as a unit, without selfishness, when one scores they all score. To see that as early in the season as it was I knew then that WOS would be a force to be reconed with.
  9. Silsbee does have some weaknesses, but its not our pass defense, and WOS is primarily a passing team. If it does rain Friday night it will definitely be in Silsbees favor. I think it was raining during the game in 1998 when Silsbee won. Rain or not it's going to be a lot closer than most people expect.

It's true Silsbee has been up and down this year, but they seem to be on the upswing at home with impressive wins over Houston Sterling (who beat a good Bmt. Central team the very next week), Newton (last years 2A state champions who are ranked #1 in 2A again this year), & Bridge City who seem to be a little up and down themselves this year, but they did play in that same district with, and almost beat WOS last year if I remember correctly, and yes this game will be played in Silsbee. WOS has another great team this year as expected, and are definitely the team to beat. I hope Silsbee wont let you down this week, and don't think Jasper can't jump up and beat ya on any given week, no matter what their record is to date. If the Silsbee Tigers do find a way to win Friday night against this GREAT WOS team whom we've all come to admire so much, even if it's another sloppy win, my guess is they will take the W, and be happy with it.
  11. McCarter got the ball a couple of times. Fumbled once I think, but recovered it himself. I like the way Elam runs the ball also. He and Calhoun would make a good pair in the backfield. I'd like to see what Calhoun could do on the right side behind White and Jones.
  12. Calhoun had a good game, but I sure would like to see what he could do if he had a little blocking for once.
  13. Good luck to both teams!! This should be a great game.
  14. This is a prediction post soooooooo..... I predict that after Orangefield takes care of Kirbyville this week. Kvilleballa will become Kvillesquawlla
  15. END OF DISCUSSION is right! Cause Dem Bobcats gonna end it for K'ville dis Friday night. Then da Tigers rolling in and stop it once and for all, and when da play-offs roll around K'ville wont be playing no ball. That's right, so lets get da party started cause da end is at hand, and if K'ville is on a field in week 10 it's cause we invited da band. Smack is Wack!! Keep libin in da past Balla, cause the future don't look to brite!!!!!
  16. Jasper gets their first win. Bridge City didn't show me anything at all, and those guys are beat up bad... Jasper 21 BC 10
  17. Orangefield made a believer out of me in the Silsbee game. I've herd all the hype from the K-ville's for years, but am still not impressed. Orangefield 28 K-ville's 10
  18. GREAT JOB TIGERS!!!! Silsbee dominated a good Bridge City team Friday night. I for one was very proud of the Tigers improvement this week. The O-Line opened some good holes for our backs and the backs were running hard and fast. From a QB standpoint, I thought this was Harpers best game yet. ( We have to start covering up that FOOTBALL guys! ) Get the yardage that you can, and then cover the ball. Stop trying to force the big play, and just push the ball down the field until it happens, and IT WILL!!! Defence! Defence! Defence! Silsbees D is doing an awesome job!!! Keep getting better guys ! If we can stop the turnovers, I don't believe any team in district 21-3A can stop the TIGERS!!!!
  19. A good freind of mine once had a dog named BOJO.

  21. Revenge of The Tigers By: Claude Bawles Bird watchers beware! HUNGRY TIGERS ON THE LOOSE!! This was the theme at Tiger Stadium in Silsbee last night, as the Silsbee Tigers mauled the Cardinals from Bridge City in a 48-14 Victory!!!
