  1. Kville, just a quick note to you. When Kountze played Newton my wife and I stopped in Kirbyville and had dinner. We had our Kountze gear on in support of our son who plays. We walked into the resturant and were surrounded by your home town fans. They looked at our shirts and just smiled. The conversations soon turned to football and we ended up staying in the resturant for an hour cutting up and laughing with Kville fans. It was great. The support your town shows is wonderful and as we were leaving someone asked "do we play Kountze" I laughly said No thank god and told them to leave Kountze alone (in a joking matter) and ended up staying another 15 minutes talking about Kountze football. Good luck to you guys in the playoffs and I am confident you will go deep in the playoffs,
  2. The coaches are ABSOLUTELY NOT to blame. Going through the process myself now as we speak. It all starts with the student, and with that I mean grades, dedication in practicing during the offseason (most times by yourself), then the parents need to assist. I have a close friend who is an active coach with Iowa State. We have had this conversation many times. Camps, camps, and more camps is the best way. This is the parents responsibility. Parents need to have a serious talk with the student and the coaches together, come up with a game plan and work with each other. Parents and kids need to realistically evaluate the talent and apply to schools that they can fit into. Maybe not Div1, maybe a Div2 or 3. If the student is not receiving any offers there is a reason. It's the parents who need to be persistant in this proces and have the coaches honest opinion. Then obtain help from anyone who offers. Then if something get offered great, if nothing happens you can look back with No regrets. Just my .02 cents.
  3. UTfan you are REALLY bringing this post back to life!!! Let it go man.
  4. How is Lamar's kicker doing, last i heard he was having trouble.
  5. This is all true when you have the A.D. riding around on his John Deere rather than contributing to the teams success, other than wrapping some ankles you need someone in there that the kids RESPECT and would follow anywhere and do anything for. If you don't believe that look at those teams of late and how they were coached.  Also look at that the previous basketball coaches they've earned the kids respect and lets count how many B-ball tropheys they have. WOW
  6. It could have been a lot worse, but Buna called off the dogs. Buna did what they wanted when they wanted. Make no mistake Buna is a good ball club.
  7. This thread is going to get ugly quickly. Kountze's issues are so much more than the play calling. Look at it this way. Kountze is a onion and there are a lot of layers to peel off before the Lions will have a winning season, and if the layers are not peeled back the onion will sit there and rot, or you can peel the onion and who knows.

  9. Bronco, we are just getting started (hopefully) I wish I had the time to come and watch him kick.
  10. Not hearing much about the special teams this year. Who has has the kickers and punters?
  11. I will get one this eveing off my son's helmet. I will most likely have to email it to you.
  12. This game was fantastic to watch. Even with the Lions taking a loss they never quit. Congrats to the Lions on a hard fought game. To Hardin Keep up the good work the Hornets looks good tonight. Your QB is impressive.
  13. I just picked up the banner and it looks great. It's larger than I thought I was going to be 4 ft. high 6 ft. long now I have to figure out a way to stand it up on the 50.
  14. Do you have anyone from Kountze keeping you updated?
  15. I couldn't agree more. My wife and I were talking about all of this and she couldn't have the conversation because she could not stop thinking about our son.
  16. I need someone to post a picture of the banner that will be at the Kountze Hardin game. I can't do it at work Need some help Please.
  17. Also, at Tiger Stadium, on top of the hill above the horseshoe seats, 6 flags representing each team from district 21-3A are flown during every home game. The WOS flag will be at half staff for this Friday's game. This is wonderful to hear. I wish I could be there to see this for myself.
  18. There will be a banner with Reggie's # and name. It will placed in the middle of the field on the 50 yard line. Before the game starts both teams will take a knee and observe a moment of silence around the banner. I ask that all the players become one at this moments and the stands participate also. We will make every attempt at having all players sign this banner. The banner will find its way to WOS and the family. From Kountze to the WOS community we are deeply sorry for your loss. R.I.P. Reggie Garrett you will be missed.
  19. I am heartbroken and can not hold back the tears. I wil also forever look at the game my son plays every Friday night in a different way. I can say it will never be about a win or a lose. I hugged my son last night after his game and told him I loved him. Something I must confess I don't do enough. My family's prayers go out to the family. God Bless.
  20. The numbers I posted are not for the WOS kicker I have not idea what this young man can or is doing. I should have made that clear in the previous post. The 50-60 yard punts are not based on anything, but I have seen this year a High School punter who can stand on the 50 yard line and punt the ball to the endzone consistantly.
  21. I can tell you that the kicking game being overlooked and not practiced enough is a problem in almost every school. How many schools out there would love to have a kid who can hit 40-45 yard FG's and punt between 50-60 yards and kickoff between 50-60 yards, but only practice about 5 FG's in practice, 5 punts in practice and a couple of kickoffs?
