  1. Even though its nondistrict I believe Liberty needs to beat Bridge City in the season opener to get off on the right foot. Gonna be a tough game being in Bridge City and all but will be a good guage as to where the Panthers are headed in 2007.
  2. I remember Johnny Dishon from Bridge City was a one man wrecking crew last year when they beat us (Liberty). He really made some outstanding plays on offense and defense too.
  3. I know its been said already but Orangefields visitor stands are terrible and the visitors side at Hamshire Fannett are just as bad and I don't know if anyone else noticed it but there was a strong sewer smell there also that someone told me was rotting grass that had been under water for awhile. They do have the best concessions though. Huffmans visitor side was o.k. when they were 3a but I would imagine being 4a they would be small. Same thing though they had good concessions on the visitors side.
  4. Your probably right. WOS and Jasper killed us the last time we played. However I think we've beat Silsbee 2 of the last 3 times we've played and BC, and Kirbyville are usually good games except I know Kirbyville drove us last year.
  5. You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I know it goes on at alot of places. If he's not back next year I have no idea who the board has in mind. There was a very strong rumor going around that Larry Haynes who just got the job in Hardin was being highly sought after. Now that he's at Hardin thats out the window.
  6. He is a good coach and it seems to me that the majority of players like him also. I think the main problem that people around Liberty have with him is that we never make it past the second round of the playoffs and very few times have made it past the first round. Whether or not that is his fault has always been a touchy subject. Most of the parents that complain about Stewart are the ones that their kids have quit, got kicked off, or don't get much playing time. I've never had a problem with him and he seems like he always has the kids ready to play. He is the coach for the upcoming year and from what I've heard he could still be given a contract if we have a good season. You never know whats gonna happen around here. Lots of politics.
  7. Alto does have an awesome program but the problem that these small schools run into against a big school is that they usually have some good athletes in the backfield that can stay away from another small schools strengths on defense by running the other way. Its tough for such a small school to have 5 big and talented lineman that can keep a bigger schools defensive players out of the backfield disrupting the offense. No disrespect but Alto could not hang with any decent average 4A school.
  8. Great job Hardin, just like they said transfer some of that to Friday nights.
  9. I work with Jason A., Donnie Mc. , and a big monster named Travis who had a brother that played for UH. All these guys played at Huffman and I enjoy picking at them as they do picking at me.
  10. We passed through a town on the way to Tyler a few weeks ago that had a stadium called the tomato bowl. I know some of you will know where I'm talking about. This is a great looking stadium for a smaller school.
  11. He plays safety and supposed to be running the ball a little this year.
  12. Huffman has always had quite a few big guys on their team. I happen to work with a few of them from past teams but they didn't really look very big in those pictures. I know that pictures can be deceiving but will Huffman have those big fellas that they've always had in the past on this years team?
  13. I'm kinda amazed that Splendora is not the overwhelming favorite in this division. They are a bigger 3A school so they should be able to compensate for their losses due to graduation. I know you mentioned Shepard, are you from there and if you are what kind of team will they have returning. Concerning Coldsprings they have a really big athletic running back coming back that could have a big year.
  14. The Kirbyville and West Orange Stark game for the district championship will be the best. Two awesome teams.
  15. Coldsprings, they always have so much raw talent and now they might have found a coach to put it all together
  16. Keep an eye on Josh White from Liberty, should have a big season. Strong and very fast for a big fella
  17. I saw Letsinger and Copeland from West Hardin last season and let me tell you these kids are awesome athletes. Even being from a small school these kids can compete in a D1 college
  18. I would think that Reggie White from Liberty is our best but we've had quite a few do good at the high school level.
  19. the offense at Kirbyville should be awesome this season. They can score from anywhere on the field it seems.
  20. I think you have it about right although the top three Coldsprings, Liberty, and Splendora are pretty evenly matched. There's a pretty good disparity between the top 3 teams in this district and the bottom 3.
  21. I saw Ford at a powerlifting meet not long ago and let me tell you this young man is ripped.
