  1. I dont see anybody from Liberty on here saying that they ran up the score. If you've got the talent to put up 60, 70, or 100 points on us then do it. As far as I could tell, WOS did just about all they could to not run up the score and I root for Liberty. Just to much of a talent differential between these two teams. I'm just so proud of the Liberty team for not laying down and for being such good sports in this one-sided contest. And as far as WOS, I never saw, or heard of them talking trash or show-boating during the game. They are just an awesome team and anybody that can beat a good 4A team like Dayton the way they did should win state this year.
  2. wow ,what a team. congrats on the victory and you showed good sportsmanship also. good season for my panthers and cant wait till next year.
  3. I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse than say maybe WOS 35 Liberty 14
  4. I don't know about any stats but Liberty's offense moved the ball all night even with the second string. The defense forced lots of turnovers and played well also. Liberty's playing well as of late although that has something to do with the competition and that's not a knock on Shepard or Tarkington. I've always admired the fight in both of these schools and they always show good sportsmanship even when the team is not winning. Liberty is looking forward to the WOS game as we have never played a team this awesome.
  5. This does mean alot to the kids, especially the Seniors, to make the playoffs. I don't think that playing against WOS has altered any of that even though I'm sure the game will get out of hand early. It's something that the kids will remember that they played against the Mustangs, especially if WOS wins state.
  6. I was at the game and it was not a game of turnovers. It was a well played game but a defensive struggle. I dont remember the Eagles losing a turnover and only had a penalty or two. Crosby probably had 2 turnovers and a few penalties. The only thing that the Eagles had trouble with was the center snap back to the quarterback. They probably had about 10 deep snaps that were on the ground or the QB bobbled. Besides that the Eagles looked very good. The Fisher kid made a good run on that TD pass after the catch. The Cougars from Crosby have a pretty good team also and are very young. I think all the skill positions on offense are all juniors or sophs. They will be tough next year. Good game by both teams.
  7. Liberty has gotten to play Orangefield in a scrimmage and Bridge City and Kirbyville in non district games this year and I can tell you that Kirbyville is head and shoulders above Bridge City and Orangefield. They will at least get 3rd in that district.
  8. You are right, Liberty wasn't ready to play but Hamshire Fannett had alot to do about that. HF defense was really tough and shut down Liberty totally.
  9. Your gonna be in for a shock if you believe that. I cant see WOS beating Barbers Hill. Just counting the first team squads the Eagles will win by probably 2 scores.
  10. I'd say the game Liberty is most looking forward to is the very first game of the season against Bridge City. Playing top competition right off the bat will tell what kind of season Liberty is in for.
  11. the best is Barbers Hill home uniforms and the worst is Hamshire Fannett's
  12. Hey Kicker, correct me if im wrong but wasn't last season the first WOS playoff victories they've had in the past FIVE YEARS.
  13. And Dayton won't have Smiley or Forest Brook anymore!!
  14. I promise you that if WOS and Liberty play this year you'll change your thinking. Liberty will be much improved. I see Liberty having very good ball teams at least the next couple of years. Wouldn't suprise me at all to see us beat WOS.
  15. Barbers Hill will be to much for WOS to handle. If it were a real game the Eagles would win by probably 2 touchdowns.
  16. A very reliable source told me that the Maxwell kid has been kicked off the team. The boy had been warned before and supposedly committed the same offense again. Jerry Stewart doesn't put up with a whole lot and there are 3 more players that may get kicked offl also.
  17. I was misinformed. He actually had one tooth broken and suffered a broken jaw. He has been in Herman Hospital since Friday and had a plate inserted into his jaw today. Probably get out tommorrow or day after. I was at the Liberty - Tarkington game tonight which Tarkington won 6-2, and talked to a lady who went and visited him today. He is a tough kid and I'm sure he'll be back next season. He's just a Soph.
  18. An update on the boy who got hurt last night. Was told he got hit directly in the face with a pitch and had 5 teeth knocked out. A very unfortunate accident.
  19. Final score Barbers Hill 13 Liberty 1
  20. Play has been halted in the bottom of the fifth inning, for about 30 minutes, due to a Liberty player getting hit on the side of the face by a pitch. Barbers Hill has totally dominated so far.
  21. Not sure on the scores but Tarkington and Cleveland both beat Liberty pretty bad.
  22. I hate to see these games moved because of these thugs. I wonder if it sends the wrong message. I believe some security would take care of the problem.
