1. "Those without morals see no wrong." That is what I have learned from my short time on this board.
 2. Bluedove, how do you know so much about AAA, mclure, and the director from notre dame? Would it happen to be from experiences you had with them at AAU? Corruption in HS basketball is due to AAU and parents who want to shop their children around. I remember a certain guard from the Houston area that later played at Arizona...how many high schools did he attend before settling down?
 3.
Houston Jones 542 enrolled / 1353 zoned  ISD Considering Jones/Sterling consolidation for 2013-14 Houston Austin 1859 enrolled/ 2428 zoned Houston Kashmere 535 enrolled / 1051 zoned Houston Madison 2027 enrolled / 2902 zoned Houston Sterling 959 enrolled / 2016 zoned .....Pearland Dawson enrollment growth ? HISD considering consolidating with Sterling for 2013-14 Houston Worthing 812 enrolled / 1542 zoned Houston Yates 966 enrolled / 1569 zoned
Savant, honest question here.  Every single school is well below there zoned numbers.  Yates for example is 603 students below there zoned number.  If over 600 students are leaving Yates, how is there basketball team so good?  Maybe their communications department is really that good.
 4.
Yates only lists 2 seniors....so the feeder middle schools have only produced 6 varsity players the last 4 years ? Did the rest of the guys quit basketball ? Were they magnet programmed to another campus for non athletic purposes ? There are roughly 500 kids "zoned" to Yates that attend another school. Im just sure you Recruit Police have verified none of them play sports at the "non-zoned" school they attend.
I would be surprised if the Yates feeder schools produced that many! Oh lets not forget a smiley face.  ;D
 5.
HISD has open enrollment. They USED to have zoning, but that ended several years ago. Whatever school that you initially enroll in as a 9th grader becomes your "home" school as far as athletics go. Students are NOT allowed to transfer within the district and play varsity sports, they must play sub varsity for one year unless there is proof that the students family has moved into that area, and that has to be verified before varsity eligibility is granted. It's a flawed system and kids transfer, but it's not a problem that is exclusive to Houston.
Completely agree with everything above.  That's why in my opinion UIL needs to step in and do something different.  When you add in charter, private, and magnet schools it really makes it difficult for the true public schools to compete.  Look at 1A right now with El Paso Harmony Science Academy playing Triple A Academy.  How can a true 1A rural school compete with that???
 6. I would venture to guess no other HS program has "hometown" listed on their roster.  You have to admit that is funny.

 8. But I do find it interesting that they have "hometown" on the roster on their home page.
 9. To be fair and honest, From UIL manual ~  off-season oPen faCIlITIes ~ Supervision of facilities for safety and security may be provided by a faculty member or non-faculty member approved by school administrator or school board. Supervisors shall not provide skill instruction to members of school athletic team
LOL! I talk with one of The Defender coaches at least twice a month. In fact, I was in my hometown (Houston)  YESTERDAY and talked with him for over an hour. Hmmm, come to think of it, I know most of the parents on that team. Also, there is nothing wrong with Wise coming to their practices. He has players on that team. Go to enough of those top tier team practices and you will see other high school coaches just being in a gym on a weekend getting the smell of sweat and rubber, cause they can't get enough of it. I tell you what you do with your opinion, next time, get one of your parents  to make accusations like this on this forum. And I can ask them some point blank questions  ;)
Well lets see there Dove...sense attending summer practices, where your players attend, is a direct violation of UIL rules, I guess there is something wrong with it.  And my quote about Wise trying to get a player to move there came directly from a parent whose son has been on the team for a couple of years.

 12. Crosby's facility is not the nicest in district 19-4A.  Facilities better: KPark, Porter, BHill.  And EC is a whole lot better than Crosby's gym.  TJ Stewart can flat out go.  If Crosby gets into trouble, watch him take over.  He will make it a 1 on 1 session.  And it is very difficult to guard him 1 on 1.  IMO...game can go either way.
 13. It will be a great game for sure.  I wouldn't dismiss Humble though.  They have nice guards, a big that is as strong as it comes, and Collins who is averaging close to 25 per game.  Collins is a 6'4 200lb shooting guard that knock it down, put it on the floor, and post you up.  Very tough match up. But Coach English is one of the best as well.  Like I said, I think it will be a great game.
 14. New Caney 58 Barbers Hill 55 Two sophomores stole the show.  Edwards for New Caney had 29 and Dudley for Barbers Hill has 22 including six 3's.
