I inquired about the progress of the hiring.   And was told  " [u]The committee[/u] spend all day Saturday interviewing prospects" "Fifteen planned interviews, and I suspect they have talked to most of them"  " I am pretty sure they are only interviewing on Saturdays, since the committee is made up of all working folks, plus administrators."  " Those being interviewed are mostly working coaches, who would not want to be known they are applying unless they are close to getting the job, so as to not jeopardize their present position."  " They do want to make a hire by the end of Feb."   And MY response to him was... "Ok thank you. The only thing I don't really understand is the secrecy of who they are. I wouldn't want to be in a current job where it becomes in jeopardy for wanting to better my career. Doesn't say much for their current employers. Hopefully the names will be released soon."

I sure hope that does not happen next season or any other season after... no excuses... Dayton IMO should have fixed the internal issues. And they didnt.

Oh and the reason why the names weren't released was because and i quote the same source "TYPICALLY AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL THEY DO NOT RELEASE THE NAMES UNTIL TO THE GET TO THE TOP THREE FINALIST. THE REASON IS A LOT OF THESE APPLICANTS COULD JEOPARDIZE THEIR PRESENT JOB IF WHERE THEY ARE WORKING NOW CHOOSES TO GET UPSET BECAUSE THEIR GUY IS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER JOB. THEN FOR THOSE THAT DON'T GET THE JOB THEY MAY HAVE HARMED THEIR STATUS WITH THEIR PRESENT DISTRICT.  WE COULD PROBABLY PUSH BUT GENERALLY WE TRY TO RESPECT THOSE APPLICANTS." sorry for all the caps..
