  1. Great game Sam. Keep it up. Congrats to Joe on his first win as an AD.
  2. Sims - Warren Copeland - West Hardin Elliot - Hull Daisetta Marsh - Hardin Sims probably has the best looking shot imo. But I don't think anyone has as good of touch from 8-12 ft (mid range) as Hardins Daniel Marsh. Copeland and Elliot can shoot lights out as well.
  3. I think they will be a good team this coming year also. They have Nolan and Marsh back, but it will be difficult to replace Zamarippa. Soph. Hunter Davis should fill the shoes just fine though. If they get the participation that I'm hoping for, (i.e. if everyone plays who should play), they will compete pretty well. Sad thing is, its a very tough district. Kountze, E.C., and Warren will be hard to beat, Deweyville, and Anahuac could slip into the mix as well.
  4. 5. I think it will be close. If Hardin's defense plays well, I'll take Hardin. I'm pretty sure their offense will score a few ponts. (I hope). The game last year was a close one, and Hardin had little to say on offense. Tarkington does have alot of good athletes though, so I'm hoping for a good game... Good luck Hornets...
  6. Please calm yourself Hive. I've seen you practice, and I totally agree that you all are much improved. Don't run your smack on this board. Let your play do the talking. I am a Hornet fan, and to this point, we've really had noone on here running their mouth, don't give anyone a reason to quote you after every district game we may lose. I can testify to the fact that Haynes is everything I had hoped he would be. Now that Hardin is improving, Hornets or their fans, have no room to start mouthing. Especially after last year. You have everything to prove on the field and nothing to gain by talking crap on this board. Good luck to all you Hornets. And lets keep showing some class on this web-site. BB.
  7. I don't think you're paying much attention, if you truly "watched" Hardin practice, then you would have seen, they have alot of team speed. I have not and will not make a prediction on the outcome of their season; however, to this point (only 1 week in) they are already a MUCH improved team. I don't know about a winning season, but Hardin's program has definately won with the hiring of Haynes.
  8. Kinda gets back to one of the basketball threads. One ref may be more strict about this than the other official on the other side. I'm OK with the rule as long as the infraction gets enforced in the correct manner. In other words, don't take away a 70 yard run/reception and TD away from a team because of it.
  9. Hardin's 1st team All District Short Stop Jordan Nolan will be a senior. He also led the team in BA, OBP, and steals I believe.
  10. As a former basketball official, I notice things like this all the time. Officials should change on most calls, when practical. When they don't, its just not proffesional. I know that most of them know that they are supposed to change. Alot of times, its just plain lazy when they don't. (NOT ALL THE TIME THOUGH).
  11. Wow, that's impressive. Alot of the kids that were with HD on the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team, have moved away. I knew Spurger had some good young talent. And in my opinion, a really good coach, in Jerry Stappert. Good luck Spurger.
  12. Is Stappert still the coach @ Spurger? If so, he coached Jason at WH. That would be an interesting match-up. And, I'll agree with whsalum, he is a good coach, but lets face it, he has his work cut out for him. I wish him all the luck though. He will definately have some talented athletes over ther though. I remember some of the kids in this group won a NATIONAL little dribblers title back when they were 3rd and 4th graders. Not that this is relevant, but just another testament to how far some of these kids have been. Good luck Jason, and HD. Oh yea, good job Joe...
  13. Josh White (center), Josh Presley (right), both will be seniors.
  14. Officially, it'll be "Hard Nosed" on Offense AND Defense... ;D
  15. Hardin lost to Canton, but over all they played very well. Congrats Hardin on a very fine job.
  16. Hardin came back and shutdown Navasota and forced OT. Then lost it by 2 (extra point no good). Still an outstanding display. Congrats Hardin and good luck in the bracket.
  17. Hardin is down 14-0 at half. Navasota is GOOD. they beat Graham 45 to twenty-somthing...
  18. Hardin won 2nd pool game 26 - 12 over Sundown. Austin Collins, Daniel Marsh, Hunter Davis with TDs.
  19. Hardin beat Graham 20 - 18 in their 1st pool play game this afternoon! Hardin's QB, Jordan Nolan connected on a long pass play to Daniel Marsh late in the game to clinch it. Graham was highly thought of as a possible contender for the championship. Dave Campbell had predicted Graham to take out WOS in the 2nd round of bracket play. This might help Hardin in their seeding going into the Bracket Tournament. Congrats Hardin, keep it up. Stay focused, you're doing great, but there is still a long way to go. GOOD LUCK.
  20. The second one, (the one that's pending the poly), was caught off the Texas City Dike. From the bank. It was turned in at Marburgers in Seabrook. Its still on display there I heard. (on ice I hope)
  21. I've heard rumors, but nothing has been made official yet.
  22. Yes, Dayton's facility is very nice now. However, Parking still stinks! I hear they're working on it though. Barbers Hill has the nicest press box, plenty of room for everyone, media coaches, scouts, etc... Also, if you plan on filming a game in Dayton this year from the press box, better bring your zoom lens... ;D
