why would I be mad. Have no investment into either team.  The concept of picking an UPSET game, is just that.  Everyone loves a win by an underdog.  Has nothing to do with being smart, as apparently Smashmouth is.  Seems he has scouted and personally viewed EVERY single player and team in the league, therefore he can accurately predict any games outcome. :o

Definitely don't think Vidor Black should be on the list. I heard (from a Sr. Vidor parent) the refs handed them the game against Ned Black this weekend.

[/quote] That's all that parents on the sidelines usually do, seeing as they ALWAYS think they know what should be done, especially when you lose.  They could care less that win or lose, the coaches are teaching them fundamentals of a game to prepare them for playing at the middle school and ultimately high school level.  Just like they forget that youth coaches do it VOLUNTARILY, without pay, and give up a GREAT deal of time to do it.  Yet, for some reason, they expect to win every game. The #1 goal of coaching youth sports is to teach them to love the game so that they will continue to play it, not to satisfy little Johnny's momma and daddy on the sidelines.

[/quote] I haven't coached in two years, but I have for many years.  Coached my sons all the way up through Sr. Babe Ruth.  And like I said, MOST coaches don't have an eye for talent.  Of course there are some who do. It's just ridiculous when it's obvious. If a kid can't field ground balls worth a darn, why would you put him in the infield if you have another one, etc? If a kid is not a very consistant hitter, why put him in the top of the batting order, giving him more at bats than most? Most coaches don't teach fundamentals.  They go to practice, throw some BP while all the players are standing around, and that's it.
