MQ was an unbelievable football player and definitely made the slot t offense go.  However he only played off the past 2 seasons. If I am not mistaken Vidor has been 1st or 2nd in the state for rushing off in 4 out of the past 5 seasons.  I agree that MQ can't be replaced, but disagree when it is said that Vidor off won't be as effective. We will see in a few months

Was on the sideline on the 73 yard run he was yelling at the ref to call holding on his players to bring the touchdown back . He threw down his hat ... It was obvious he did not want to score again.  Know what you are saying before you post it .

The Vidor Pirates want to thank all of you people in Lumberton that wanted Coach Credeur to leave.  We just got a great coach a great man and a great leader.  Oh and by the way....we just got a lot better. Thanks again!

What's classless is your uneducated arse ripping on a 17 yr old kid. If you don't like what happened find a better way to say it.  You could say something like "I thought ( fill in the blank with whatever kids you thought should have won) had a great year. But no you would rather talk bad about an award and a kid .  I'm done can't argue with an idiot..

Classless.  What type of person would come on and bash a high school kid that just had an amazing night.  You are entitled to your opinion, but if you choose to bash a 17 yr old kid , keep it to yourself !

I love when I hear guy is not big enough or fast enough to play at the next level.  Texas would not take drew brees or Johnny football..they were not big enough!  London fletcher was too small.  Do you know how fast Montana is?  Do you know how big he is?  I bet you don't know either.  To say no quality players in his district is crazy.  To say he would get smashed is stupid. I tell you what.. Keep talking bad about him,  you never know.. You may look as stupid as those guys that said Johnny football was too small. 

Again No offense to any other players.. Couron and Stamply were studs.  They were dominant.  8 individual 20 4a coaches saw them and MQ play and they voted MQ unanimous district MVP. 

I understand what you are saying badndn but I refuse to believe that the "best" overall player in the area should not win 1 of the awards .  His numbers on either side of the ball are as good as if not better than any other candidate.  There are many great football players in the area .  I have seen a lot of teams play. It would be a shame if he is not a wrs winner after what he has done on the field

No disrespect to any player in the area. Quarante was the best all around player in the area.  The kid had 1900 yds rushing and around 150 tackles.  He didn't play after halftime in 4-5 games.  He did this against 4A competition.  The 20 4a coaches thought he was the best player in the district. If he is not one of the best 2 players in the area...

Demdawgs,  he did not get torched all night. Y'all won the game. You were the better team. Be happy for your team.  Move on. You watched him 1 game you are far from qualified to determine whether or not he is capable of playing db. Good luck this week

I have only got to watch the pirates 1 game in each of the past 2 seasons, and in both games I was amazed at how hard they played.  They play with passion.  They realize they will not be the bigger or faster team, but they play without fear.  Never underestimate the heart of a warrior.

The trouble with being a pirate is that if you praise the pirates you haven't earned the right.  If you praise your opponent you have a something up your sleeve.  Hard to win either way

Jeff has always had nothing but respect for all of vidors opponents.  I think he was giving credit where credit is due.  Nederland is the defending champs and they return more starters then anyone else in the district. 

Talked to a friend this week that said coach stump was mad at coach Matthews last week for running up the score on them.  Just wondering how much difference there is in a 38 point margin and a 35 point margin. 

I haven't heard of anyone from Vidor quiting.  Who was it?

it is just sad to me...i don't really believe he stepped away because of his knee.  I believed he stepped away because he knew the new supt. and several board members were waiting for him to slip up.  Coach has not missed a day since he has been here..he hurt his knee last year at practice..had to go to hospital and was back the next day.  I learned through athletics that It is not about me...I was taught that it was about the team..Several people within the district need to realize that it is not about them.  Because they were selfish..the whole team will be hurt...Thank you Coach for being a role model and for making a difference in our kids life.  I am sure the you will have plenty of people apply for the job, however I doubt that any of the coaches that complain from the stands would even have the courage to stand up and apply.  They would rather sit back and second guess a decision they dont have the courage to make...

bama kid ,  did you every work at Vidor High School.  You sound alot like a guy who used to work and coach while you were writing for the Vidor newspaper.
