  1. Okay, I figured something was going wrong. There must be a filter on here to filter out curse words, so when I'm typing as(s)'t, it changes into butt.
  2. hey wait a minute, I am typing ass't coach................not buss't coach.
  3. Hahahaha! I'm really sorry. It's a typo error. Trust me! I can't explain why because the "b" key isn't near the "a" key. I really meant to say "butt"t coach." Oh my God! I meant to say "ass't coach!"

  5. To me, it's not an easy adjustment running your own show and then settling for a position as an ass't. coach. Now the best 'timing" would be for Boutee to suck up...err I meant buddy up with a head coach or AD and get into a system knowing the coach would retire within 2-3 years.
  6. Whoa-a-aa!!! I thought you were saying earlier it was a god fit. And I was saying at the time, why would he want to leave Ozen and his power and become just another coach in a system. Now you're saying it's not a good fit. Yes. Circumstances have changed and I think he should just "wait this one out". Just trust me on that...It will only be a matter of time, and the opportunity will come back....patience. I think he needs to get into a situation where he is being groomed for the job, and not being lost with other ass't coaches and never herad of again.

  8. From a recruiting point, McNeese and Lamar would not attract any attention outside of southeast Texas. No one would care about the game but the locals.
  9. How does this help recruiting purposes? A probable win. Texas Southern won't travel to Beaumont because their season will always be a wash in the final game. Lamar won't be playing in a meaningful game every year as quite a few of the SLC final weekend games are due to playoff and championship implications... Seems to make little sense. As much as people in this area would think otherwise, Lamar U has NO name recognition in Houston and the nearby areas of Greater Houston. Lamar would get some press in the Houston papers, just like Sam Houston "College."
  10. His game's draw backs are recognizing good shot selection, DEFENSE, athleticism (kinda on the Daniel Gibson level), and player recognition. He has played with his current teamates for years and still doesn't know who can handle hot passes and who can't. ============================================== I think shortt was saying Brown does not have the ability unlike Gibson to recognize a good shot selection, defense, etc. etc, bah-hhhh!
  11. You are gaining my respect for you. "Player recognition!" You are a true guru if you're getting into the technical side of this part of the game. The mental aspect of the game is the hardest part of any sport to overcome or understand. Many have the physical abilities but no sense of the mental side of the game. You gotta know your teammates and what their limitations are in any given situation on the court.
  12. Don't make fun of me, I'm a baseball guy but what position is a 2 and 1 ? I remember basketball positions as a guard, post, forward and center. 1= the smartest person on the floor...err court and 2= the selfish player
  13. 6'3"? Oh okay! Thats tall enough for college. And I hear Warren is one heck of a player.
  14. I've never seen the kid play but someone was telling me today his ball handling skills are not that good, and too short to be a shooting guard
  15. I think the true advantage to playing select ball is playing against competition all over Texas and other States and playing under that type of competitive pressure, whereas local talent may not sense or experience the full affect of playing quality teams on a regular basis. Better teams make you step up your game or your weaknesses will be exploited.
  16. Are you kidding? That kid is gone after the first year if he stays and has a good season. Gone in sixty seconds. :'( You will still see him play;Only it will be in a larger arena
  17. aCTUALLY FOR RECRUITING PURPOSES, I'd prefer LU and Texas Southern University.

  19. Can someone tell me if the coaches have open gym during the summer months? If not, thats a first step in having a successful basketball program for boys and girls.
  20. Yep, just like he welcomed Denver.
  21. You gotta love the internet.............
  22. I predict Stump. He's in with the local kids from middle school on up. He has the name recognition and a history of success...and young enough to build a team.
  23. Well, I went to a very reliable source today and my source reminded me UT has many strings dandling out there.Anything is possible.
  24. Hmm? Is there a list for the forum to keep a watchful eye on our participants? UNLV is losing it man
