There is no way that Kountze finishes ahead of Warren. Warren hammered them last year and will do it again. Glad to see TJ back in the area, a super guy, but he aint a baseball coach, we saw that in Warren a few years back. Warren showed last year what a quality coach means to a baseball program, they had not been the same since Martinez left in 05.

But the original comment still stands, theres no way you name a local all star team without him, unless it was intentional, and thats just wrong.

First, congradulations to all the young men making the team, it is an honor. Now, how does a local all-star team not include the 2 time 4A "defensive player of the year", Nederland catcher, Anthony Babino? Team must have been picked by an umpire with "very slow reflexes", if you get my drift.

Really? I wonder how many times that kid has been asked to bunt this year? It was the 4th or 5th ining of a 7 inning game.....Not a 9 inning game. They dodged a bullet with the first foul ball that BH couldnt get to, but then to call it again and have a pop up? No, sorry, that doesnt work. Down by 1or 2 late in a game, yes. Down by 5 late in a game, nope.

[/quote] Sure it matters...not having your #1 or #2 pitchers makes a difference. I also believe playing on the terrible turf at Lamar hurt them. BH had at least 3 infield hits. Your infielders cant stay back and wait, they have to attack the ball, and they did not. Ned has a battle coming back from this, they can do it, but its going to be tough. On another note, the home plate umpire was terrible, for both sides. No consistency in a strike zone, not vocal at all and really was just a bad umpire, especially for a playoff game. Do the umps have to qualify for the playoffs? This guy needs to stay in T-ball.

The fact that Warren played error free ball may have helped just alittle. The "hanging K's" thing on the fence, well......I saw 6 at one time, but Kountze was down by 9 runs. Was it for strike outs, or ERA?

I just got a good look at the kid from Kountze, he is also a very good catcher. Good size, good speed and he hit the ball pretty well. Our Warren catcher didnt impress me tonight. Hate to see him end his playing days with a game like today.

Sorry guys, all those catchers were good, but the best catcher in 24-2A was the senior at Warren. Working with the youngest pitching staff, an indifferent infield and new coach he was still the most fundamentally sound in 24-2A. The only other bright spot on the Warren team was West in centerfield, also the best in 24-2A.

If I were Kountze, I wouldnt want another whoopin just before the playoffs start............

There are no pitchers in Buna's district like Riley or Winters (Woodville). Woodville will win any head-up match, they have the pitching and the team. Buna has a good team, not taking anything from them, but our district was very weak. Woodvill will ride the pitching duo and go deep in the playoffs. Buna has a couple quality pitchers themselves. They were had a good run in 24-2A and I wish them luck.

No doubt, Buna's gonna be tough and it has been a rough season. The wind Friday night was the problem, 25-30 with gust to 40....Anything hit in the air was an adventure. There were some very good plays made by both teams. Never really had a hard rain, just a steady, heavy mist. I enjoyed watching 2 pretty equal teams duke it out. They just came out on top.....It beees that way some time. The Kountze game has been moved from Tues to Wedn night. Both teams have golfers going to regionals. I am speaking of next week, after the Friday night Buna game. Maybe Buna will take us lightly....stranger things have happened.

Yes....the conditions were terrible, for both sides. The game was huge, for both sides. Warren was trying to get it in so that our #1 pitcher would have more time to rest before Buna next Friday, and catch Anahuac without their #1 starter, having pitched earlier in the week. It was a well played game for both teams, Warren gave up 5 runs in the first 2 innings, but battled back with a big 6th. I enjoyed watching it, even through the bad weather. There was some timely hitting for both teams and very few errors. Its easy just to blame it on the decision of the Warren coach, for some reason he has become an easy target. I didnt agree with all the decisions made during the game, but he is the coach and gets paid to make em.

If you knew anything about Morgan, you would understand that parents aren't going to tell him what to do. To blame the coaches for some kids choosing not to play is crazy..........

After spotting D-ville 10/11 runs in the first, Warren comes back to win 18-14......Congrats Warriors

I'd like to see Warren pitch Trey. Let Brodie or the younger Babino boy catch. Or bring up the JV catcher for a game. What's it gonna hurt? THe playoffs are out and now its time to play spoiler......DV will hammer our normal pitching rotation and our defense just aint playing well enough behind them.
