2.
HF has a tough row to hoe, but they can pull it out.  They do need the seniors to step up and be leaders which has always been an issue with this group. They have 5 seniors on the squad, 1B, SS, OF, P/C and P.  Sad to say, but I think many key errors have also come from some of them, so they need to up their intensity and play like the leaders they are supposed to be.  As was said, there is no I team, and HF still has a few that haven't learned that spelling lesson yet.  It is better.
You are absolutely right some of the errors that would have changed the outcome of the game were errors made by the seniors.  The seniors are putting way too much of the weight on their shoulders. They are trying to do too much now that we are in district, but now it is time to learn from the mistakes.
 3. Congrats Colby. You worked hard for it.
 4.

Yes, that is true anything can happen. Im sure HF will have a good run as well, but Jeffcoat has to be consistently on when he takes the hill. Lets face it, he seems to get frustrated extremely easily and when i was attending one of Hamshire Fannett's scrimmages, he gave up a homerun and to me it looked like he fell apart extremely quickly. And if i remember correctly he hit the next batter. Pitching depth will be key for HF
Not really sure why you pointed out Jeffcoat?  But H-F has many great pitchers at the moment.  I have seen all of their games so far.  Jannise threw very good against Lumberton, struggled a little early with control against buna though but came back and threw strong.  Jeffcoat may have struggled in the scrimmages, but considering all the time that everyone had with the rain he never threw bad. Jeffcoat had a no hitter against Kville, he through very good and our defense and offense backed him up.  Both sophmores Herring and Johnson had very good games. Herring threw to Coldspring the team that knocked HF out of the playoffs first round last yr and he had a shut out.  Johnson had a no hitter to buna going into the 6th, and that was even after his playoff run with the basketball team ended. Jeffcoat ended up relieving him later and picked up a save.  Brooks came in the 7th against Buna Monday who was also on the basketball team and his stuff was pretty nasty.  I am still waiting on Wendling to make a comeback to the mound.  He threw very good his sophmore year and hope to see him soon.  So I believe the pitching staff is going to be just fine it is very deep with a few other relievers. In my opinion BC Silsbee/HF Orangefield/HJ WOS
I strongly agree feel like HF and Silsbee will split games like last year.

Highsmith link=topic=96718.msg1187254#msg1187254 date=1330404850] Because there is no way he would start in the field. Hf's infield is loaded. And the outfielders are all a great combination when the right people are out there
I would think Walker could make HF varsity pretty easily. He has been with the PNG varsity and thats a night and day comparison.
It wasn't just a baseball move, but a football move as well.  I don't know why yall would think a kid would reflect hf's program anyways. Like already stated he would have more than likely made varsity but would have never got much of an opportunity to play.  He would have pitched, but that may have been all.  He is really good and will be very good as he matures in png.

Thanks
I was at the H-F Buna game and I clocked both pitchers.  I had the Buna pitcher at Low 80's and HF at high 70's.  It was a close game and HF pulled it out.  However I was slightly disappointed with HF's performance, they were lacking the tenacity needed to put the game away early.  I believe the pitching at HF has steadily declined since the dominant "Phillip Lynch Era".
??? :-X
 7.

Johnson, the young pitcher from HF that no hit Buna through 6, had just returned from a playoff run in basketball. Im not taking anything from Buna's young gun but to make that adjustment in one night is tough to do. Give him a few weeks and he'll be rollin just like every other dominant 21_3A pitcher.  Buna needs to prepare for the upcoming year
Playoff run?? Lol. So was this his first time on the mound this year?
yes hf's basketball team just lost in the playoffs. the buna game was the first game to have the basketball players back. johnson hasn't had practice time on the baseball field at all

No grudge at all Buna isn't worthy of 3A competition. I can't believe the big 3A schools would even schedule Buna must be getting some easy victories before district starts
Have you never watched Buna play in your life? Buna plays more 3A schools then 2A, they'll do just fine in 3A next year.
sarcasm, franchise keeps trying it but its not any good
 9.
I'd have to say either 21 3A or 20 4A
21-3a lot of talent this year
 10.

Buna will only be in 3A for 2 years.....I wasn't at the game but I heard HF was getting no hit by a freshmen thru 6 ...... Buna only losing 3 and have several long kids playing now only going to get better.
Your right they were gettig no hit but buna was also getting no hit by a sophomore through 6 too and also that's only one pitcher in 21 3A when you've got bc silsbee hf of hj and wos your gonna need a lot more than one guy to get to playoffs an once they see that kid once or twice they will be all over him
The kid threw good against HF but that's why there is 7 innings top of the seventh HF made the adjustment and scored six runs and ended up with four hits off of him I believe but there's always tomorrow 8)
 11.
I'm sure they'll get a final taste of what they will face next year. I believe Jannise is pitching correct?
They will be seeing Jannise Monday
 12.
Welcome to 21 3A buna chalk another loss up
Absolutely 8)
 13.
HF lost, not sure on score yet
Congrats on a great season horns
