  Teams in 18-4A that see Brenham every year know that they will be there at the end of the year and be the one to beat in district. They will turn it around, count on it. Montgomery knows better believe me.......

  Montgomery-8  Texas City-2  F   Montgomery-9  Kemper-8  F   Montgomery-0  The Woodlands-1 F The Woodlands pitcher #23 Carter Hope (Oklahoma State University committ) threw a 4 hitter had us guessing at the plate all game. Montgomery pitcher Mason Mize (our #3 I believe) threw well and so did Colin Garrett (Soph).  A key error by Montgomery 3rd baseman in the 6th let a baserunner on and The Woodlands capitalized on a it, scoring the lone run of the game. Well played game by both teams. The Woodlands is undefeated this year and in the tournament. This was the first loss for Montgomery this year. Bryan-5  Montgomery-6  F

Montgomery 4, Huntsville 2 F Chris Cooper worked 6 1/3 innings, striking out three while walking two. The Bears improved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in District 18-4A. Will Fox went 3 for 4 with two RBI for Montgomery, and Jimmy Dominick went 2 for 3 with a run scored. Pretty good start for the pitching considering our ace Ty Boland has yet to pitch an inning with a sore arm. Having found nice some young arms early and the bats have stayed hot has helped, but the competition level is about to rise some.

Like you said Brenhamfan its based on what is coming back. Montgomery and Magnolia both know that Brenham is the still the one to beat. I really think its better to be the underdog, easier to motivate the team. Montgomery know its has to jump that hurdle to win district, but at least they have done it before unlike the football team and the way they raised their game in their playoff run last year gives them some confidence.
