5.
Just got a call from a baseball parent and the Orangefield Tourney has been canceled. Can anybody confirm this
This isn't confirmation, but if the field in West Orange is not playable, then good chance that the field in Orangefield is in about the same condition. So I guess long story short, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
 6.
What happened to Vanover
He took over as Head Coach at the new Tomball school.
 7. It looks like Nederland and WO-S will be attempting bond issue elections again sometime this year to go in that direction.
 8.
Im thinking if the players would practice some defensive skills sometime between august and March that the defense would improve. Instead of them being in offseason football or playing 7 on 7, get out and take some ground balls and fly balls. What do these baseball guys do during Nov. Dec and Jan? Are they working on football skills or what? Get them on the field and practice some defense. What im trying to say is that most schools focus so much on football that they dont allow the baseball guys to get in the work that is desperately needed. Lastly, when is the last time you heard someone say that they are going to take a defensive lesson?
It seems like high school football is the cause of most ill's these days, huh?  I don't know where that came from?  My understanding is that a lot players forego 7 on 7 to play select ball during the summer.  On top of that, a good number of players are opting not to play the football season to "concentrate on baseball" which I guess translates to "concetrate on hitting"  because from the early reports they certainly didn't devote any concentration to the fielding part!
 9. Anybody have scores from the Vidor/Jasper or WO-S/Jasper games?
 10.
What are the Dog's going to get out of playing in this tournament beside's inflated offensive number's? I don't believe you are going to find out anything about your pitching because the talent that ya'll are playing against. Just wondering how this get's you ready for 20-4A.
Well, let's set out a few things: 1.  Remember, this is the weekend that Nederland normally would be hosting their own tournament.  In fact, up to about a month before the season started, plans were to do exactly that.  So, by the time it appeared that wouldn't be an option I am sure the many tournaments were full. 2.  If they had to go to an alternate plan, the Certa-Bearden wasn't a bad one.  It contained a district opponent (Vidor) a potential bi-district opponent (Dayton) and two opponents that usually go deep in the 3A playoffs and whom your district mates have scheduled to prepare them for play (PN-G had BC as their opener and LC-M invited the Cardinals to the tournament....Jasper's loss to Nederland was their only loss in 4 games against 20-4A teams). I think Coach Robbins, given the circumstances, has been prudent in his choices to prepare the Bulldogs for district play.
 11. Well, with due respect that seems, from your posts anyway, to be a tie amongst every team that has played the Ozen girls.

 13. Final from the last game of the day, Lumberton defeats Orangefield, 9-4.
 14.
Let me try this again on the correct thread. Where's Zoch this weekend? Are teams pitching around him?
He ran into some real good pitching yesterday from Nederland and Vidor has a decent staff, too!
 15. Lumberton scores 4 in the Top of the 6th. Middle of 6, Lumberton leads 9-3.
 16.
Where's Zoch this weekend? People pitching around him?
He's at the Certa-Bearden (WO-S) Tournament this weekend.
 17. After 5 complete, Lumberton leads Orangefield 5-3.
