The Tigers, under second year coach Randy Smith, come off their 10th straight playoff season. Meanwhile, W.T. Johnston's Eagles enter the season with a 23 season playoff streak. 13. Not really. From my understanding, Jehling and Babin have a pretty good relationship. In fact, that relationship is what got this game back on track.
  14. Not sure, but with the flooding from Pine Island Bayou that they got, it is likely they won't be able to answer the bell until 9/22 at the earliest. Woodville came available as Orangefield cancelled their 9/15 game with Woodville a couple of days ago.
  15. According to texasdrive.org, only northbound traffic is affected.
  16. It will be a scrimmage at 10am in Winnie (East Chambers HS)
  17. Unless Vidor tells the district that it will not compete in district play, the UIL says yes. And there is precedent for it. After Rita hit, the district that West Brook and Memorial were in (strangely enough, 22-5A) voted to proceed with the the other 6 teams competing for the district title and leaving West Brook and Memorial out of it, even though neither school intended to shut down for the season, but like Vidor in this case, wouldn't be able to start at the same time that the other 6 did. The UIL stepped in and made 22-5A go back to the drawing board citing its policy that any certification of district standings must be fair to all participants. That district ultimately decided to break the district into zones.
