In 21-3A action the #5 State Ranked Hardin-Jefferson Hawks travel to Orange County to take on the Orangefield Bobcats.  HJ (32-1, 5-1) is coming in off of a win over district rival #4 Silsbee on Tuesday night.  Hawks were led by Shawn Prudhomme with 25 points in the 79-74 win.  HJ is ranked #2 in the SETXSPORTS.COM Dirty Dozen poll this week.  The Bobcats (16-14, 2-4) are once again at home this week, just as they were on Tuesday night when they defeated the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorn's 45-38.  Orangefield currently finds themselves in 5th place in District 21-3A. Once again you cannot recruit and sign every kid.  I can tell you one of the kids listed that some say was not recruited never had any intention of coming to Lamar even if Lamar offered.  Most on this board don't have a clue what goes into recruiting.  Me included.

He has 30 kids out of what 65-70 that are from SE Texas.  I guess that is not enough. Sure I would love to have 100% of the kids from SE Texas, but I also want LU to be successful!!!!

Coach Davis was at jasper, but not the years that they beat HJ or Silsbee. His first year at HJ as an assistant was the year that Jasper beat HJ.

It took me listening to the broadcast again to realize that HJ was down 5 with 5:45 left.  FT won the game for the Hawks!!!!  Practicing those freebies paid off last night!!
