The 3A #9 ranked Hardin Jefferson Hawks take on the 2A #17 ranked New Waverly Bulldogs.  The Hawks have moved through the EC Christmas Classic by defeating Lumberton 71-38, Corsicana 78-55, Hitchcock 93-62 and then Little Cypress-Mauriceville 49-36 in this mornings semi-final.  The Bulldogs made it to the Championship despite losing their first pool play game to LC-M 62-61.  The Dogs then defeated Evadale 65-51, Lumberton 52-40, East Chambers 51-48 and then Orangefield 46-40 this mornings other semi-final.  The Hawks will be looking for revenge as the Bulldogs defeated the Hawks in last years EC Semi-Final matchup. I expect Anderson to maybe give it a go next week. Sutherland is moving just fine!!!! It was a nice run for the Hawks and it was started by a huge 3 by Sutherland!!!!!!!!!!

Anderson still out with knee injury. Mitchell and Carr not playing entire tourney since they played an under level tourney earlier in year. Prudhomme and Harmon played today despite throwing up all night.  Prudhomme with only 3 points in the game!!!!

The Hardin Jefferson Hawks will take on the Hitchcock Bulldogs this afternoon at 3pm at the East Chambers Holiday Classic.  The Hawks won Pool C by notching a 71-38 win over Lumberton and 78-55 victory over Corsicana yesterday while Hitchcock gained the runner up position out of Pool B via a 66-56 loss to Orangefield followed by a 80-75 win over Tarkington.  Winner of this game will move into the semifinals of the winner's bracket tomorrow morning at 9am.
